We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The grounds are beautiful, the staff are incredibly helpful and it is in a great location. The food was easily the best I have ever had at an all inclusive, by miles. We especially liked the Mexican and Asian, and the Mia Kasa next to the Mexican. The cocktails are fab, especially served to you on the beach. The beach itself is narrow but that's quite nice because you're always close to the beautiful clear sea. You can snorkel in the shallow water in front of the bank and see lots of fish or venture to the reef beyond the bank. We saw a huge ray while we were kayaking which was amazing. The minibus "collectivo" runs on the main road between Tulum and Cancun, it was very cheap and so easy to use for Tulum, Playa Del Carmen, Xcaret and cenotes. Would be a perfect honeymoon location!

My partner and I stayed here from 28th April - 8th May. This was certainly the best all inclusive hotel we have every stayed at.
Firstly the food was incredible. We loved the Beach BBQ for dinner. We felt this had a lot of choice, and was the most beautiful setting to eat breakfast at.
For lunch we opted for the Burger Boutique most days. Couldn't fault the food if we tried.
All of the dinner restaurants were lovely. The Mexican was actually the only one we were a bit disappointed with. If you go to the Culinarium I would recommend the Ossobuco!! The Italian; definitely try the steak, one of the best we've ever had. You have to book the Asian and the Gourmet Pub early. We only managed to get to the Asian. It was the best food we had all week. I would recommend ordering a few starters to share, as they are very small.
You can order more than one of anything at all the restaurants so don't be shy if you are hungry :)
Also make sure you take full advantage of room service, as we did! They do have nachos to order but they are not on the menu. With room service you can only order a maximum of 2 alcoholic drinks.
I am still in shock at the standard of food and choice of cocktail for the money. Amazing!

All of the staff were so friendly. They don't expect tips but were grateful for them. We discovered if you tip the bar men in the evening they will skip a lot of people and tend to you.
We had an issue where one of padlocks for my suitcase broke, I rang reception to see if they could help and within 5 minutes they had a handyman there and he was great. The staff were very attentive and willing to help with anything.

The beach was lovely to sunbathe at. There were always complaints about sun beds, but if you get there at a reasonable time there will always be one. The Bali beds do get taken early, and people take both them and sunbeds which is very selfish.
The kayaks are free, so have a go. There is waiter service on the beach but they sometimes took a while.
One issue was the lack of toilets, the toilets were a bit of a walk from the beach unfortunately.

There are a number of pools dotted around the hotel. The sunbeds for all of these did unfortunately get taken very early. We never got a seat around the activity pool. One of the pools with the swim up bars was good but all the loungers were in the shade all day. This pool also had no toilets nearby which was very frustrating.
One of the other little swim up bars at the end of the lazy river didn't actually have any sunbeds around which was a pain but it was only small.

The rooms are nice. Slightly dated but very spacious. The lighting is a little dull. There is shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, vanity kits etc that are replaced everyday so you do not have to bring these if you don't mind using the hotels. There is also an iron and ironing board. There is a hair dryer but it's not great. The hot tubs are fun, they take a while to fill though!
There is a mini fridge in the room, that is restocked most days. You can ring and ask for more drinks if you want them.

There's a souvenir shop in the reception that has very handy items in. But if you are looking for souvenirs or things like cigars, go into Playa Del Carmen. My partner managed to get a box of cigarettes for 400 pesos. These were 700 in the hotel. (Although you have to haggle with them in the shops!) In Playa Del Carmen they also do some of the excursions a bit cheaper. They have a shopping centre, and for ladies that like MAC make up.... It is cheaper there! Lipsticks are about £10 over there.
Be warned when you go to Playa Del Carmen you will be hassled!

If you like watching sports they have TV's at the main bar (Guacamyas) and will play the football, boxing etc if you ask them.

We travelled with Thomsons. We found the 'welcome meeting' a bit of a waste of time, we felt that they were just trying to sell their excursions rather than telling us any useful tips about the hotel. Also they ask you to wait around at the end to book anything, but you are better off just going to the office as you could be waiting over 45 minutes!
The Thomson office is only open 11-3, which can be a bit inconvenient but what can be done! We booked Coco Bongos and Xel-Ha through them. Neither of them disappointed. There was 4 of us going to Xel-Ha and the reps told us it was cheaper for us to get a taxi then pay to go with the Thomsons coach. So instead of paying £119 each we paid £89. So I'd recommend that if you're in a group. Xel-Ha was incredible. Only took us half the day but food and drink is also included in the price.
Coco Bongos also did not disappoint. Loved every minute of it! Thomsons take you right there in the coach and pick you up from there.

There are lots of activities that go on during the day such as fitness classes, volleyball, tequila tasting, language lessons etc. There is also a gym on the El Dorado side.

I could go on forever talking about this hotel. All in all it was one of the most amazing trips we have been on. We would love to go back again! 10 days wasn't enough :(

This Hotel is one of the best we have stayed at. The staff are extremely helpful and pleasant and greet you even in passing. There are 10 restaurants and are all excellent. The resort was kept immaculate and the room very clean. There are a lot of extras included in the all inclusive including room service and international phone calls. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice room but security is out dated, you need a room key and a safe key. Pain to carry around. Floors are slick no rugs, my husband fell twice. If you go make sure you get a swim out room, worth the money!

We spent 11 nights at this lovely hotel on the Sensimar side in April. Spotlessly clean everywhere and the staff were so kind and friendly. Food was very high quality and service professional. We loved the beach and the sea was honestly as warm as a bath. Take banana into the sea and hundreds of fish will swarm around you for a piece. We didn't use the pools as the atmosphere wasn't there but the beach was great. There are picnic benches on the beach where we had breakfast and lunch, all tasty meals. It's true you do need to get up around 6:30am to get a Bali bed but it's worth it as the sunbeds are very uncomfortable which is a shame when so much detail has gone into this resort. The majority of guests seemed to be aged between 25 & 50 all British, American & Canadian. Would we go back, yes today if we could! Highly recommended
