I love this paved trail and use it every day. It's great for a morning run or ride a bike to the other end and walk along a long stretch of undeveloped beeach.

The ciclopista is probably the best attraction in Ixtapa for all the family, you meet from very serious runners and cyclist to all the family on it, you can have a guide who will take you around explaining the flora and fauna on the way.
At the end of the ciclopista you find a 'Cocodrilario' (crocodile area) sometimes there is a 'Cocodrilo charmer' near the beach 'Playa Linda" where you can have a well deserved fresh coconut and watch at the same time the "Papanteco's flyers" and carry on.
The ciclopista get's used for the '31st Dec New Run' for all ages which its really good fun, as well as for the triathlon events.

The paved cycle path helps you get around Ixtapa without competing with cabs for road space. The path will get you to Playa Linda or into Zihuatanejo. It is used by pedestrians as well so caution is advised but really handy if you have access to a bike during your stay.

This is the best (and inexpensive) activity in Ixtapa.
you just find a bike shop, rent bikes and find the easily marked bike bath. Then you ride through the jungle along nature preserves for about 6 miles and end up at playa Linda (if you like). The path is well maintained and there is plenty of shade. So much fun a for a low impact workout

If you want to do something relaxing and interesting, then I recommend this. I've rented bicycles near the hotel zone and ridden the five mile trip from Ixtapa Playa Palmar north to Play Linda along the clean, smooth path. Ride fast for exercise or slow for nature watching....I did both!
