This cottage is like a tardis. It's much bigger than it looks from outside and is extremely light and airy, especially in the kitchen and adjoining conservatory at the back. Everything was immaculately clean. We have seldom stayed in such a well equipped cottage: the kitchen was such a pleasure to cook in. As for location, the pub (which has a restaurant and also offers takeaway food) is just on the corner and the beach (which has cafes) is only a few minutes walk away. The views over the Moray Firth are to die for. Will definitely be recommending this cottage to others.
I loved staying here so much that I didn’t want to leave! The cottage is so clean and well equipped. It has everything you could need for a relaxing break. The kitchen looks new and is great to cook in. The joining conservatory looking onto the small secluded garden is a delightful place to sit. The owner, Carol was so very helpful when I asked for help with a small problem. I can’t wait to go back!
Well laid out and spacious for this type of accommodation. Reasonably well insulated from noise (seagulls and traffic). Only fault apart the universal one of hot pan handlres is that there is no shaver point in shower room or bathroom.
I’ve been visiting Rosemarkie and Fortrose every year for more than 20 years and stayed in many different places. Rowan Cottage is one of the best, very well presented and equipped, providing a home from home place to stay. If you love the dolphins like I do, then a lovely walk along the beach brings you to Chanonry Point, where you can spend hours watching the dolphins feed and play. It’s not just about dolphins, although it’s hard to leave them, the area has many more things to offer. A must place to stay.
The cottage is on the doorstep of the most intriguing part of the Black Isle for lovers of folklore , legend, nature ,natural beauty and mystery. It is equally ideal for a holiday of exertion as it is for one of lazy idleness .
