I'm a rather nervous adventurer, so I had to take a leap of faith in deciding on renting a local home rather than playing it safe at a familarly luxurious hotel. But I really lucked out in choosing the 2-bedroom apartment in Tres Bonitas Casitas. It was spacious and gracious, colorfully decorated with the work of local artisans, clean, very well-supplied, sunshine-y, and breezy enough because of lots of windows that I never needed the overhead fans. The neighbothood was near enough to the city center to be convenient, but out of the flow of too many tourists. The only nighttime noise was an occasional dog showing off his bark. Mornings meant a few roosters doing what they do best: showing off as well. Jackie is an attentive host and a real pistol, in the best sense of the word. Have a "problem" with the internet just to have a chance to meet her.
The location is amazing - the Parroquia of San Miguel Arcángel is two blocks away! This is a great family-friendly house, very cozy with an amazing view. We'll visit again!
