This is a amazing place, filled with gorgeous art. Enjoy a drink from the cafe, walk around for hours taking in all the talented artists and beautiful shops.

The history of the building is very interesting and can be seen along the main hall as you enter. The volume of art and furniture on display is overpowering. Still, after two hours of browsing I began to feel as if there were only half a dozen styles and palates in the two-dimensional art (many of the same artists in many seemingly individual galleries), and while there was attractive jewelry to be sure, there is at least as much variety and innovation elsewhere in SMA.

A natural woodworker's shop called Nogal toward the NW corner of the "maze" had a lot of cool, innovative, natural work, but overall for the time invested expected to see more variety at Aurora.

Certainly if we were setting up a home in SMA, we'd spend hours here, but as browsers it was an "enjoyable" afternoon, but I can't remember spending as much time viewing art without a single piece remotely "blowing us away." There were a few M.S. Eschers, plus a great book of his work available to be thumbed, but when the highlight of a visit is the reprise of work of an old friend, it's a bit of a letdown.

north side of the center, a great place to check with new artists and crafts, a place to spend money and a nice cafe to sit down and enjoy the day

All in one place! Artist workshops, restaurants, coffee shops, services. First weekend of the month ART WALKS are a must do. Use of the old textile factory into a useable, reasonably prices workshop space for local artist was a brilliant idea. Open studio on Thursdays are great for spending quality time with the artists. I personally love the open spaces where historic photographs are on display showing the years when the factory was in use. There are areas where you can view the old machines for textile creating.

Within walking distance from the center of town, is a beautiful art center with works from Mexican artists. There are paintings, sculpture, woodcuts and lithographs. The staff is helpful and welcoming. A few shops where you can purchase handicrafts are in this center.
If you have time in San Miguel, visit this walkable site. I loved it.
