This is just a great hotel on Instagram.
It is currently 12:30am at nigh , and the property right next door is BLASTING music, where the bass is vibrating the water glass in the room.
We contacted the general manager, Mario, and he says “there is only so much we can control”. This response is very understandable, however, should be followed up with “what is in my control....and this is what we can do....”
This hotel is advertised as a “relaxing and soothing hotel”... by no means is it living up to its name.
The only reason I gave this place 2 stars is because the waiters down by the pool and beach are very attentive and doing a great job.

HORRIBLE LAST NIGHT on our honeymoon.

Greetings from Tulum!
Thank you very much for your lovely review of our hotel. We also love that is a bit hidden between the jungle and the beach and love it even more when our guests enjoy their experience with us. We love giving our guests the option of lounging by the pool and are happy to hear you enjoyed this part of our hotel. We hope to see you back with us soon!

The overall experience was magical just as everyone says. The entire place was beautiful and the vibe was something I rarely experience at a hotel. As soon as you stepped inside, you felt the stress from your real life melt away.

The service was outstanding, from the food, bar, to the hospitality. Everyone who worked at the hotel was so helpful and so pleasant to be around. I felt like we left with 10 new friends.

The room was perfect. We had a Jungle Room which was located in the perfect spot. It was always quiet, no bugs and felt like a real hotel even though it was a tent. The toilet and shower were outside - but it was the perfect way to shower after a long day in the sun. No complaints about the room whatsoever. That being said, if you're looking for something a bit more "buzzy" I would request a room closer to the beach bar and restaurant.

The food at the restaurant was delish - it was Mediterranean themed and not very expensive. The waitstaff at the hotel was excellent and was always willing to bring you whatever you wanted or needed.

The location was also perfect. It was a bit off the main drag of hotels and restaurants which made it all the more special and secluded. I loved coming back to the hotel everyday. It was also a bit closer to downtown and the ruins north of Tulum - everything was accessible and easy to bike to (with the free bike rentals at the hotel).

There was always a daily activity for the guests - morning yoga, sunset acroyoga or a movie under the stars. The spa/massage was outstanding and super relaxing. Can you tell we loved this place? We will be coming back.

Our only small comments for the hotel would be the following:
1) include a taco on the menu since we're in Mexico. I would have loved to eat at the restaurant more often if they offered some more local food.
2) offer morning coffee to the guests in their room vs. going to the restaurant. It would have been great to enjoy a morning coffee in the room or on the porch of the room.

Morgan H

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience with us at Habitas. Please know we take each comment into consideration as we are always aiming to take your experience to the next level.

We encourage out staff to organically mingle with guests as we believe connection is of utmost importance. Ten new friends is a great statistic for your first visit! We certainly agree that our outdoor showers are not for everyone, but we believe in immersing yourself in nature, hence our tents vs. rooms! We are happy to hear you enjoyed these amenities.

In lieu of meals included in your stay at Habitas, we’ve chosen offer complimentary wellness activities instead. We believe it adds another dimension to your experience and helps bond you to these beautiful lands. Again, we are thrilled you enjoyed this as well!

We will pass along all of your comments to our various departments who work hard each day to ensure that your stay with us is nothing short of relaxing, rejuvenating and inspiring.

We do have fish tacos on our lunch menu and hope you will try them the next time you visit us. In the meantime, we will work on providing coffee to your room!

All our best,
Your Habitas Tulum

I was super excited as I walked through the doors of this place. Design wise it has it all. Beautifully choreographed, stunning bar by the beach, amazing cocktails...and then you hit the restaurant. Disappointing. Soulless where it should have been the most soulful. We ordered a starter to share and a main course each. The starter arrived, 2 minutes later so did the main course. The food was good but with no atmosphere and an attempt to eat everything before it went cold, I was left with a very bad taste. Not returning thank you.

Hola,

Thank you for your feedback and kind comments about our design and quality of our cocktails. We are sorry that your experience with us at Moro was anything short of satisfying. One of our main goals is for our guests to feel connected to our space and environment. We will pass this feedback on to our kitchen and management. We hope you join us again for what will surely be a more soulful and satisfying experience.

Love,
The HABITAS family
