The tour was booked at the JW Marriott tour desk on the first floor. The tour bus company was awful. We got up super early (no time for breakfast) to be picked up by the tour bus. The tour company dropped off everyone at a shopping mall for one hour to shop. It was a complete waste of time. We didn't get to the restaurant until past 2pm and our kids were beyond hungry. The tour guide said you had 1 hour and 10 minutes to eat lunch and swim at the sinkhole. It was not enough time to enjoy and felt really rushed. We decided not to swim because we didn't think we can eat, change, and swim. I felt the tour company was very irresponsible when all the trust was placed on them. Our tour guide was very "macho" where he spoke super loud in microphone in the bus and a bit controlling at times. We could have skipped the entire day. Next time, we will hire a private tour guide.

They promised us the plus package when purchasing our tickets, only to find out that they charged us for it but sold us the base package the morning they picked us up. The base package includes food but not drinks...not even water. Stay away from this company and anyone selling their experiences. If you do decide to buy from them make sure you triple check what they are selling you on paper.

We fell prey to the friendly Aldora walking down the strip. We were coaxed into their office a d were sold on a snorkel and jeep tour. We paid 150 bucks. It was for Cozumel. We were told to meet at office 9 am sharp. We arrive and noone there. 10 minutes later someone arrives and takes our money and gives us our ferry passes. We are to snorkel and get. New 2018 jeep for the rest of the day to cruise around Cozumel. We take the ferry and arrive at the place. They say no Jeep. Offer a small crappy car. We say no thank you Jeep or refund. They find a Jeep and have us escorted to main office. Turns out it's a rental car place and when. We get there guy says his Jeep's are 60 bucks and company only wants to pay 40. No jeep. He called police, we get escorted back to snorkel place, police talk to guys, they say of course my Cancun experience fault and go back there. Needless to say we never got a Jeep. When I doubt, book activities through your hotel.

We walked down to a beach where you could get a ferry to Isla Mejures. The ferry was unable to leave from that pier due to the waves but we were told that they would have us transfered on a bus at 11:30 to a different pier. Then they mentioned that we could book an excursion to Chichen Itza for half price . We were told to put $20 per person and pay for the rest the day of. They would pick us up at the hotel 7am. So we paid our deposit while we waited for a bus to travel to the other pier. It was 12:15 before they finally flagged down a random bus. So we missed the ferry and had to wait for the next one. Finally got to the island after a long wait. If you have time go to the island it is awesome. We weren't able to snorkel because of the wind and waves. But we rented a golf cart for $40 USD and traveled the island. We found a place called Oscars. AMAZING food. TRY IT! SO the next day we were up and ready for our bus trip. 8:30 rolls around and still no bus. We called the place and they said we had to meet them at the PLaza. SO we walked over there. When we got there our name wasn't on the list. So they called the people we booked with and eventually got on the list. Now some more waiting. Finally got on the bus. It had a a bathroom and the seats were ok. Something smelt a little funky. They had a rule on the bus no number two. Sure enough within an hour of the trip someone took a crap and then the bus driver locked the door so we couldn't use it anymore. They took us to a little village to buy some trinkets. Finally made it to Chichen Itza. Amazing to see minus the million vendors. That took away from the experience. Our tour guide was good but very repetitive so we ventured off. Went to the cenote and had some food. It was good and the swim was nice. Got back on the bus and traveled to a town. Wish we had more time to spend there as it was interesting. All in all it was nice to go. There were a few let downs but it was neat to see. Plan for a 13 hr day.
