My family and I just came back from our stay at this hotel. The service/hospitality is wonderful, and we especially appreciated the staff at The Dune restaurant within the resort. Andres, Tomas, and Alessandro were very kind! The food was delicious and everything on the menu was excellent. We had a great experience here.

This resort is really lovely, its quite large, you do lots of walking which is good. The location is great, across the road is the La Isla mall, which has much better restaurants, go across the road for your meals - the food at the Lagunamar restaurants was terrible, some of the worst food I have experienced and didn't seem to be Mexican - no flavour, spice, freshness or authenticity.
The resort has lovely staff working there, everyone was obliging. I will say however, their is no ambience or vibe here, if you are wanting a quiet hotel with nothing to really do then this is for you. Sadly the beaches were closed and the Pool lounge chair umbrellas were all closed down and the weather did not permit us to lay by the pool or to sit on our balcony.
the pools are incredible, and swim up bar is really cool - you can still swim in the rain ;)
So the experience here was half the hotels lack of entertainment/ambience and quality of food and half the poor weather.
Room was spacious and very clean, housekeeping was great. Coffee machine did not work though.

We enjoyed our week at Westin Lagunamar. We are Marriott owners and traveled with our 4 kids ages 10-18. We stayed in 365/366 and had a great ocean view and infinity pool view. We came one day after hurricane beryl and everything looked good. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the concierge was extremely helpful with recommending good tours and assisting with restaurant reservations. We did do a timeshare presentation and found them to not be overly pushy and held to the time allotment that we were promised. We ate at the various restaurants numerous times- it was all okay, I think we were slightly disappointed by the sports bar food. They have a nice swim up bar and a good happy hour. The kids made use of the pickleball courts and mini golf, we played poolside bingo with their activities staff-all included. It is right across the street from la isla mall which my teenagers enjoyed spending some time at. The beach had some nice waves, has lifeguards on duty and the sand was very soft. We were thrilled to be there when the turtles were laying their eggs. My kids and I went down at 830pm and saw two! Be respectful, give them space and don’t use your phone lights!

The resort was beautiful and the up keep was immaculate. I loved the one bedroom villa with the balcony and massive spa tub. The villa had everything we needed to settle in and feel at home. I really liked the dark wood appointments throughout.
All of the staff I encountered were friendly and wanted to make sure we were having a great experience. I so enjoyed meeting our bellman Guillermo. His smile was just infectious and he was always so helpful with providing information as we planned our dinners and short trips off the property. His face lit up each time he saw us and he really made me feel appreciated and cared for. The beachfront and pools are absolutely fantastic and second to none. I did not have trouble finding chairs and umbrellas in either location. I went out to enjoy the sunrise each morning and there was a section of the water that was filled with sea shells. Hunting for them was so much fun!
It was nice arriving on a Wednesday because the crowds definitely seemed a little light the first few days. Our personal concierge Keneshia was extremely friendly, booked our spa and dinner reservations, and was not pushy about signing us up for a sales pitch.
The only blemish on this property is the food. I was not impressed with the food preparations, nor the prices!!! Even a 5L bottle of water from the market was severely overpriced at about $7.50 USD. The breakfast buffet was really the only food we enjoyed on property during our 5 night stay. The good news is that there are some amazing restaurants nearby via a 5 min walk or $5 Uber ride. One of our favorites was ElephanThai, and the absolute best was the upscale Greek restaurant Ilios.
Carlos in the Heavenly Spa was the icing on the cake. He delivered the best two massages I’ve had in my life! My birthday celebration exceeded all expectations and I will definitely be BACK!!!!

I can't say enough good things about our experience at this property last week. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are spacious and clean and the staff is exemplary. Our concierge Girardi Nicoli was attentive and helpful - she made sure we had dinner reservations, helped us book a fantastic day excursion to Isla Mujeres and always greeted us with a smile.
It was great having a kitchen so we could keep breakfast items like fruit and yogurt handy and the meals we ate on the property were better than most resorts we've visited. We will definitely be back!
