This was a great vacation and much of our good times are due to staying at Lagunamar! Below are a few comments.
A property can be beautiful, but the employees and their customer service are what make a lasting impression on a guest. It is clear the Westin emphasizes customer service. Everyone I came in contact with was full of smiles and professionalism., and greeted us with "hola" or "buenos dias." I want to name 3 people I had direct contact with, who deserve mentioning by name.
First, Ruth- was our assigned concierge. She contacted me well in advance of my trip and was very responsive to my email inquiries, prior to our arrival. She also assisted us during our stay. She was a pleasure to deal with.
Manuel woks at the Westin Visitor Center that is located by the bus stop in front of the resort. He is very professional, genuine, and has a great sense of humor. It is apparent he loves his job and helping people. I had an opportunity to witness him helping several people. He shares feedback from other guests/tourists. He is great at what he does, but i could not help thinking what a great asset he would be inside the hotel. His recommendations and tips were definitely on-point.
April works at the front desk, and is wonderful. She is very sweet and is very enthusiastic when you seek her assistance.
Tierra Market is definitely a step above the typical hotel store! Plenty of affordable food items. I have never found onions, bell pepper, garlic, spices, gluten-free items at a hotel store. To top that off, we bought individually vacuum packaged rib-eye, chicken breast, and hamburger patties, and grilled them on the gas grills located near the gorgeous infinity pool! We only ate on-site once. There are themed buffets for dinner at the Oceano Restaurant. The night we ate was Mexican night. We found it to be okay.
The resort had a nice array of activities for kids and adults. With respect to the Kid’s Activities Center, it closes daily @ 5pm. Ping pong paddles and ball and tennis racquet and balls can be checked out at the Activity Center.
Putt Putt golf clubs and balls can be checked out in Tierra Market, after the Activity Center closes.
The beach/pool is gorgeous. The Infinity pool with swim up bar is such a nice touch. Also, there are plenty of beach chair.
After getting back from excursions, it is really nice coming back to a well-appointed villa.
Sofa bed in living area. Television in living area and the bedroom. They even provide laundry detergent and dishwasher powder for the appliances. The kitchen is fully equipped, including bonus items like a blender. Go to Tierra Market and get items to make a yummy smoothie!
Nice size bath room with: Spa/jetted bathtub and separate self-enclosed shower.
The toilet is also self-enclosed. It is nice to have a double sink in the bathroom. Another plus for me is that we never heard noise from the adjacent units.
There are 2 well-equipped fitness centers. I believe there is 24 hour access.
When eating off property, don’t forget to be aware of whether the restaurant offers discounts or provides a complimentary drink. Mention you are staying at the Westin Lagunamar.
