When I booked this condo there weren't any reviews but the description and price was intriguing. Afterwards there were 2 reviews and both indicated that the pictures were not an indication of the room as it had been remodeled and I concur. So I would suggest to the owner to update the pictures. This is important because you know what you are getting and for me the room does not sleep 4, technically. There is one large bed (not two from the pictures) that could sleep 3 small people and a sofa for 1 that does not look too comfortable to sleep on. The 3 people would need to be very good friends.
Overall the condo was nice and had a great view of the pool area, beach and sunrise. Where the condo missed the mark were the amenities. The condo is far from the hotel zone and any stores for stocking up. There is a small convenience store about a 10 minute walk. Someone who chose to stay here is looking to be away from the zone and relax on the beach. Given that the condo is away from the zone or grocery stores you will need to be able to stock up for your stay. The Walmart and other grocery store is about 45-60 min bus ride or 20 min cab; however, the first problem was that the refrigerator did not keep anything cold in order to keep and cook later in the week. We purchased food that needed to be refrigerated only to have to cook it all the next day bc it was not keeping well. It was on max cool so I believe the condo unit just may need a different refrigerator.
The main amenity that was severely lacking were beach amenities. There was nothing in the condo to take out to the beach (i.e. beach chairs, cooler, boards, balls, etc). I guess I was expecting those items given that the condo is on the beach. I would not expect those items in a hotel but again I believe the purpose of this type of vacation rental is to get the difference from a hotel experience, being able to cook your own meals and having these types of amenities without maid service or a bell man. I did not think that we would need to purchase chairs at the beach every day or go out and purchase beach toys.
For some reason we could not get the wifi to work on our phones or computers. Access to wifi in Cancun is very tough so you will need a password everywhere. We use Apple products and in some places we could connect and some we could not. We could not at the condo. Not sure if it was the wifi or the product but after multiple resets of the modem we had no luck. That made it tough to follow up on plans or map places. I cringed everytime I had to turn my data on to communicate with the owner. So beware if you use an Apple product, if that were the issue (someone mentioned that to me where I tried to connect).
There weren't any wash clothes in the bathroom nor enough towels in general if there would be more than 2 people. I did contact the owner about the towels and wifi and the owner responded stating that maintenance was being sent but I never saw any evidence of maintenance every arriving. Finally, there was water all over the bathroom floor which appeared to be coming from the closet area in the bathroom. I attempted to contact the owner but unfortunately the message did not go thru. I turned the data off too fast.
All in all the condo is not bad (change the pictures); however, the owner could improve the experience by stocking the condo better with beach amenities, bathroom supplies (find and fix the source of the water in the bathroom) and possibly a new/better working refrigerator. Remember, it is not near the hotel zone where all the restaurants are or near a grocery store.
I could not recommend this unit to a friend at this point.
