One of the prettiest churches in Mexico. I have been here twice and would go back again. Its so peaceful to just sit inside the church. If you're headed to Taxco, its a must visit.

If you are into visiting churches and you are a person who appreciates sacred art and architecture, this church is a must place to visit. The interior is all covered with gold, one of the most beautiful churches in Mexico. It is currently in restoration, but definitely worth the visit.
Built over only seven or so years, the brief time it took to build this church explains its unity of style and its balance of forms. No money was spared, the best masons and artists of the time were hired.
Don Jose de la Borda (French) a local prosperous mine owner, had so much money and power when he decided to build this church that neither the church nor the government intervened with the design or with funds. Complete control of the projects rested in the hands of Don Jose.
Considered the best example of Mexican Baroque, it is unique in the fact that it is very narrow due to the lack of flat land in Taxco. For almost 50 years, it was the tallest (94.6 meters) building in Mexico.
Nine gold leafed altarpieces, a dome covered with colorful talavera tiles and a monumental organ (250 pipes and 1,000 voices) are all parts of what makes this place very exclusive and beautiful.
Don Jose de la Borda had an ulterior motive, that his son becomes the parish priest. What a way to get that to happen!
The latest earthquake damaged the church and it is still under repair so about ½ is not open to the public. My guide told me they expect to be done by September 2019! I would love to see the whole church. Let’s hope.
I've never seen a church altar like this in Santa Prisca!
This is art, nearly 500 years old!
It's a pity, - didn't hear this beautiful organ.
This Parish was build in 1748-1758. It’s the biggest example of Mexican baroque. In 1759 was considered the higher building in Mexico. Also have a unique organ and it wasn’t built with church money. It´s a place where you can enjoy time with your friends or family!
Best viewed and photographed in the afternoon when the sun is on the facade to capture the beautiful pink tone.
Very ornate both inside and out with stunning carving. The interior is full of gold painted plaster and wood alters and carvings with one of the most beautiful organs I've ever seen. As it's not so big inside as many similar churches in Mexico it also has a nice intimate and comfortable feel.
