We stayed here in Feb 2016 and it was great. We had the top floor suite on the beach side and there was plenty of room for 2 couples. The kitchen could use some updating, and it would have been nice to have jugs of water available on the property, but still very happy with our stay. The beach access and pool were perfect. I think Playa Madera is the best beach to stay on. I actually stayed in the same hotel 17 years ago on my first trip to Zihua in high school. It was great to be back!

We stayed at Villas Miramar recently and loved it. Zihuatenejo is a busy bustling tourist town and this place is a perfect place to relax. Well run, good staff and the location really is perfect. Of the several beaches in town, Playa Madera is one of the smallest and nicest. Perfect for swimming,, no hassles from over zealous restaurants, and just steps from the hotel. We stayed on the ocean side of the hotel which has buildings on both sides of the street, each with it's own pool. There are hotels in town for every budget and taste, but this one really has a great location. Lots of restaurants nearby and about a 20 minute walk to a major grocery store, Comercial, We had a junior suite with a kitchen which could have used a little help, but the maid Angeles, was nice enough to bring us extra cups and things. We were very satisfied with the Villas Miramar

Room Tip: Ocean side for views and beach access

A basic, no-frills hotel with large, clean rooms, friendly staff and the best Margaritas anywhere! The location is perfect - on Playa Madera and walking distance from many wonderful restauarants and shopping. We have stayed here before and felt welcomed back like old friends.

This hotel is nicely located in Zihua on Playa La Madera which is in close proximity to restaurants and the town area. We spent the first night on the garden side and thankfully we were able to move to the ocean side for the remainder of our stay. The garden side is okay but literally it is just okay as our room was in need of some serious updating! Our ocean side room was decent but once again there were a few areas that could have used some attention such as the toilet barely flushing, shower stall needed an overhaul and the wiring throughout the room was very sketchy. If you can get beyond my rant and want to be close to the ocean and the town center this hotel is passable yet there are alot of choices!

Room Tip: Room 117 proved to be decent looking right out at the ocean!

Checked into what was a "garden view" room. The view was of a wall two feet away.
Freezer would not make ice - told manager and he did nothing. Asked for new room and no help. Left after seven days and manager wanted additonal nights payment to leave early.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for ocean view rooms.

Dear Mr. Rollmann. Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. I hope this answer can clarify your impressions.
About the room, I would like to let you know that all our standard garden view rooms are named like that because they are located in the garden side of the hotel and have a close view to the green areas and one of our swimming pools through the balcony and most of the windows. We never knew that you were not satisfied with the location of your room until a few days later when you came at the front desk and said you were checking out five days earlier before the original check out date. As you must have written in your confirmation email, a one night charge penalization applies for cancellations or early check outs. If you had requested us to change rooms we would be happy to help you so you could be completely comfortable.
For last, all our standard rooms have a mini fridge. When you report us it was not cooling enough we checked it and it was working fine. Unfortunately the mini fridge it´s not a freezer so it does not make ice cubes but you could get the service from the restaurant.
I thank you once again for writing us your impressions. We´ll keep working hard so we can turn any problem into solutions and hopefully you could give us again the opportunity to visit us and make your stay at the hotel, a great one.
