Never disappoints ! Location is steps away from the beach and the rooms are clean . Staff is friendly and always accommodating. Been coming here for the last 8 years and it hasn’t lost its step at all! The pool is always far and the sports bar is super friendly !
The non guest drunks who come in droves are running the show here. Absolutely disgusted that a paying hotel guest comes secondary to the $5. a drink drunk who is not a paying hotel guest is sitting in your chairs around your tables, leaving a mess behind. Can't have the family around with such vulgar language and behavior. This is the 2nd time in my life where I have went to a front desk and apologized for such ill behaved Canadians.
Last year I walked by the Azteca Inn restaurant a few times and it was usually busy mid morning. I checked out the menu and the prices were really reasonable (super inexpensive)...I went in for breakfast and it was delicious as part of breakfast fresh salsa and chips were delivered to my table and they were awesome...I later went back with my wife and we had a dinner that was also a great experience-she had shrimp and I had the Mexican platter-both as good as anything we’d eaten in Mazatlán at a price that made me feel almost guilty..........After we used the restroom in the attached motel and it was spotless and we both commented on what a cute and clean property this was. So...this year we came a day before checking into a all-inclusive resort in Mazatlan and booked a room overnight. It also was spotless and well appointed and we were happy with our choice (especially the price) We would stay here again without hesitation. It is a gem in Mazatlan.
We had a wonderful stay at the Azteca. This is a Hotel in the Golden Zone but not on the beach and across the street from the Playa hotel on the south end of the golden zone. The price reflects this. It was extremely clean and the bar next to the pool is considered one of the best pool bars in Mazartlan. Try the ‘Milk Shake’..
It is very close to the beach, restaurants and shopping. Next to the hotel is a small “tienda’ market that sells, ice, beer, snacks etc. As most hotels in Mexico do not have ice machines, this is real advantage and a cost saver. It is also a few blocks from the new ‘walking’ area, the ‘Mazatlan Malecon’. We walked here ever morning , both on the beach and the walking area and because of the views of the islands, the miles long beach. This is one thing you should not miss.
Very surprised at this motel not what I was expecting as company usually puts you in something a little less opulent . Only stayed for one night but cant complain on anything , attentive staff comfortable rooms & best of all the food , I have a weakness for Mexican food . Would I stay again ! , you bet .
