No coffee maker in a Junior Suite!

1.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 16 Feb 2022via mobile
I’ve never seen a hotel that won’t give you a coffee maker! They told us people on the 10th floor get one but I guess the 7th floor “Junior Suite” don’t qualify for a simple coffee maker! We have our own coffee, just needed the machine!
I would definitely not recommend this place. What’s the point of paying for a junior suite, ocean view, so you can have your coffee on the balcony??!!
Really not happy I have a whole week of this! I’ve travelled to 10 different countries at least and have never seen even a standard room without a coffee maker!
Date of stay: February 2022
Room Tip: I don’t recommend if you love your coffee on the deck in the morning!

I made a reservation through their website same day I was staying. When I got there I paid again because they could not find the reservation I made online. They finally found it late morning the next day and took over 2 hours to reimburse me.
Staff was amazing and so kind.
Ocean view from hotel is amazing too.
To check out pool towels you must leave your ID. I got my towels stolen while we were in the pool. They said they would have to review security cameras!
So with all that being said call to make sure they have your reservation and don’t get your towels stolen!!!

Rented two rooms at this seafront property during a business trip. The check in experience was long and tedious, mix-up with reservation payments, at least one ½ hour was required to get into my room when returning from dinner as 3 times room key did not worked and even had to demand a room exchange so I could go to bed..!!! All American channels in Spanish, very very poor managerial response to payment and room key troubles. Stay elsewhere if you can.

I’d give one ½ to 1 star rating to this property.

Room tip: Stay elsewhere

We were at the Don Pelayo Pacific Beach March 8 - 15 / 2019. My wife and I were looking for a last minute getaway and we have always liked Mazatlan. The deal to the Don Pelayo was cheap and we liked the location so we booked with Sunwing. The check in experience was pretty good in relation to Mexican check ins. The girl at the front desk spoke good english and was pleasant and helpful. Our room was a junior suite facing the Malecon. The rooms are older but ours was very clean and had a small fridge, hot plate and a microwave. The beds were very comfortable and clean. We only ate one meal there and it was okay, service wasn't great but it was busy. The location is pretty good, close to the beach and within walking distance of lots of places to eat and get groceries. The pool area is okay for kids but we preferred going across the street to the beach which was virtually empty!
Overall for the price we were more than happy with our experience and would definitley go back. Take ear plugs though if you are in a room facing the street as it can be quite noisy, especially on the weekends.

Room tip: Rooms facing the Malecon have a great view but they are noisy

Don pelayo was an excellent hotel. Kinda far from the gold zone but beautiful sun sets, close to the malecon. Not many spoke English at the resort but it is Mexico. Those that did speak English were very helpful. U can exchange money ar the front counter. The restaurant was awesome to get up and go for coffee. The rooms were clean comfortable beds, nice pillows.

The receptionists named jesus was very rude and had a very bad attitude. It seems that he doesn't like his job. He told me that he used to to live in USA and the bank I'm using it wasn't the best that his was banking with bank of America plus he made some other negative comments by telling me that everything he had in USA was the best than mine. Like my bank account even the type cell phone company I'm using. He compared himself to myself and thats not a good customer service. I really felt sad about this because my friend heard him said that to me. I hope never come back to stay in Don Pelayo Hotel ever again.
