“Fantastic holiday let”

We were greeted by Tina when we arrived rather wind blown off the 430 ferry and were instantly made feel welcome and relaxed straight away. Tina had left us yummy Orkney butter, Orkney cheese, fresh eggs, fruit scones, tea, coffee and milk - plus the essentials needed if arriving late without any supplies. The cottage is beautifully finished, clean and has everything you could need for a stay in Orkney. (The washing machine would be a god send if staying during the wet season and having an outdoor, walking stay). It also has a burner in the lounge room for the cooler months.
The cottage is sold as a one bedroom but also has a single bed on the landing - this sounds a bit of an add on but it is tucked away and does have some privacy and a roof light window. It was perfect for myself, my mum and 5yo boy. :)
It is located in Deernes but we actually found this perfect for exploring the east and west of the island as everything is so close by and having Kirkwall in the middle of the main island meant it was no trouble to pop into tesco, lidl or the co op for food supplies on our way back in the afternoons.
We cooked simple meals while here and the kitchen was well equipped with everything you could need.
Overall we were over the moon with our accommodation and wouldn't hesitate to stay again or recommend it to friends. xxx

Thank you for such a lovely review and glad that you found the cottage met all your needs. The extra bed we don't charge for but felt it is a bonus for small families. The cottage is available all year round so the facilities do allow for those times when you need to refresh clothing or if staying for longer then a few days. The log burner is great in the winter months, adds a touch of romance to what we feel is an idealic setting.

We stayed at Tiffyhall for one week whilst visiting friends and family in the Orkney islands. It was an absolutely superb place to stay and represented excellent value for money.

The cottage is equipped with everything you need to self cater, as well as some luxuries such as a log burner. On arrival basics such as local milk, butter and eggs were provided, giving a welcoming touch. The location is beautiful and provides an excellent base for travelers wanting to explore the Orkneys.

We will be staying here again.

Thank you for reviewing our holiday cottage, we do appreciate all feedback. Yes the Curlews do get a bit excitable this time of year. The picture windows do allow guest to experience what is happening with the wide life outside.
We can certainly supply some cushions to go on the sofa, even though we were not aware that there were any issues with the sofa not being comfortable, therefore asked others guests since your stay to also comment on this. The feedback we have received has not found the sofa to be uncomfortable therefore we believe this must be down to personal preference, but will definitely take your comments onboard.
Thank you for this good review.

When we arrived at the cottage and opened the front door we were blown away with the interior,
it was FANTASTIC,we thought we were walking into a new house for the first time.I have never seen a place so clean and well presented, the whole cottage was immaculate and there was also a welcome pack of Orkney produce, the hosts were lovely and the view from the bedroom was amazing. Our stay at Tiffyhall made our holiday on Orkney one of the best we ever had, this is an honest review on a wonderful cottage with wonderful hosts.
