Lovely quiet walks along canal with the horseshoes pub which sales super food and a well deserved drink after a long walk also plenty of wildlife on our visit, village shops also very good for your basic needs. Very beautiful countryside and everyone we met was very friendly would go back without question.
Historic little house in the peaceful and very picturesque village of Berriew, with beautiful countryside all around and 2 minute walk to amenities, such as shops, butchers, post office, restaurant, tearooms and pubs. There is a sculpture museum, a fabulous river and canal walk ways. Montgomery is 10 min drive away, which is also well worth a visit, including the castle, shops, inns and brewery. We felt very welcome and appreciated knowing that the owner was not far away, if we had experienced any difficulties. We made a fire in the evenings, which was lovely and cosy. We particularly appreciated the way the house has been furnished in keeping with it's antiquity. Perfect retreat and sad to leave this friendly home.
It was basic but that was fine no problem,I think it needed the fire to be working and maybe a little more information on the fact that the bathroom was down stairs, which could be a problem for some people,
Stayed for two nights. Pretty and cosy cottage, nicely furnished. Gorgeous village and not far from Powys Castle and Welshpool.
