My wife and I stayed here for one night dinner bed and breakfast.
The Hotel is tucked away from it all a couple of miles down a lovely country lane. It's ideally situated for exploring the Forest of Dean and Wye valley.
We were met with a smile and taken to our room, we had one of the unrenovated rooms but it was perfectly fine, nothing special but that was expected.
We had a tasting menu and every course was exquisite. Normally on a tasting menu there is something that's just 'ok' but, no, everything was delicious. The staff in the restaurant were also excellent. We tried a couple of recommended wines and they were all tasty, as you'd expect they weren't inexpensive but nether were they ridiculously priced so we didn't feel like we were being ripped off.
There was a delay between some of the courses which made for a long night as our table was booked for 8pm so next time we'll book an earlier sitting.
I'd also like to thank the Whitebrook for handling my gluten free requirements so well.
Overall a great night out and we will be back.More
