This is a spectacular spot. Really spectacular. Up in the hills behind Scarborough in its own substantial grounds, this is a house built in the traditional style. "Corridors" (verandas) on the outside are open to the view and the breeze and give loads of space (we were 11 including the baby) so there is a veranda for you - whether its quietly considering the view,, table tennis or that all important rum punch.
The gardens with their flora and fauna is a real feature - birds (humming birds a favorite), frogs, bugs, bats abound keeping kids and grownups fascinated for hours - and then the flora; for me not so much the beautiful flowers but the avocado, lime, banana and mango waiting to be picked.
The lovely Lesleyanne will welcome you and be on hand to help with whatever question you might have. She also changes sheets and generally cleans part way through your holiday doing a thorough job. This is the Caribbean so when this takes place will not necessarily be a fixed time!
Make no mistake this is someones home, not a super modern purpose built holiday villa - no aicon (but lots of ceiling fans which we all agreed were better than aircon by the end of the holiday) and fixtures and fittings that are not brand new but more than adequate. You need a car to get to the local shops and the breathtaking beaches and beach towels are not provided.
In summary, this is a more "authentic" Caribbean experience than you would get most other places in Tobago and the Caribbean in general. Its good value too. You should go for it!
My family and I stayed here during our vacation and it was just a wonderful experience. The time off from the busyness of our daily routines was definitely needed. I took advantage of this beautiful place and breathed in clean air while enjoying nature and the outrageous scenery in this property.
LeslieAnne was very welcoming and great to my family.
I visit Tobago regularly for several months at a time and use budget accommodation in Store Bay. However, I like to escape the busy and noise polluted southern tip of the island and stay for a few days at Ambassador's House which is also known as Windy Edge. It is heaven there. The house is old colonial style and spacious and sits on top of a hill mid island with stunning views in every direction and one can see both the Caribbean and Atlantic seas. It is comfortable and very well equipped. My partner was delighted that we could watch English cricket and all the other sports he loves on TV as there is Directv. There is a verandah all around the house where one can while away the days and evenings enjoying the breeze and the bird life. The property is peaceful and secluded (which was a huge relief as it was election time!) and there is both sun and shade in the lovely garden area around the sparkling pool which is a good size for swimming. I am extremely envious of the owners of this wonderful place and wish I could stay there forever!! I thoroughly recommend it - unless you hate peace and quiet!!
