“A great location for a quiet getaway”
Reviewed 23 December 2017 for a stay in November 2017

We stayed here with two teens the first week of December. This location is the best. Close to Georgetown but not in it, grocery store a short drive down the road, a quiet, tourist free residential area. An easy drive from the airport. If you want to avoid busy 7 mile beach but stay close to the amenities this is a good place to be.
This is a stand alone home right on the beach in the Caribbean Paradise Condo complex. There are 12 homes on the beach with low rise condo apartments behind, two homes for rental and the rest are friendly residents. Amenities include a nice pool and a tennis court, free 2 car parking and a large deck with a charcoal BBQ.. The ocean is literally 40 feet from the deck. There are 5 lounge chairs for this home, although in the week we were there we saw maybe 20 people on the beach.

Pros: Nice beachfront, there is a part of a ship wreck about 70 yards offshore before the main reef. While the current was swift that week we snorkeled it multiple times and it has a good assortment of medium sized reef fish, crabs, rays and colorful coral. Nice spot for me and my teenagers.
The beach is a nice walk in both directions, about 15 minutes each way with big new homes mixed with a few original homes. The beach is public although not busy at all. The current is swifter on this side of the island so not great for beginners.
Nearby drive to Smiths beach for good snorkeling and swimming, a bit further drive to Spotts beach to swim with the turtles (amazing).
From this location it is easy to drive to the east side of the island, or to 7 mile beach through Georgetown (although avoid the traditional rush hour as it is here as well).
Grocery store a short drive (Hurleys) with liquor store as well. We had multiple BBQs on the deck.
The home is a good layout, three bedrooms and three baths. Large, fully equipped kitchen and great views from most rooms. Loads of towels are provided, local phone calling as well. Good beds, everyone slept soundly. No problem with water pressure or hot water. Decent WIFI, not great for streaming a hockey game.
The grounds are beautiful and well cared for. The grounds crew was around every morning.

Cons: If you are a family with small children then the beach is very playable but the ocean is not. There is sea grass all along the edge of the beach and you have to swim over it about 10 yards to get to the sand bottom. May be to much for younger kids. My teens not a problem. Keep in mind the pool is a very short walk one house over.
Remember this is not a hotel, so you clean up yourself and make your own beds. We are fine with that and any equipment you need is here, including laundry and soap.
For the price charged the home itself is in need of a makeover. The baths and kitchen, while functional are from 10 plus years ago. Need a more modern feel.
It would be nice if the kayaks that are locked up at the side of the house could be used by the renters. The safe to lock our passports and cash was off limits as well. Tennis equipment and snorkeling sets would be an asset. While we brought our own snorkeling equipment it is a bit of a chore to bring along. To rent a set for the week is another irritant.
Probably the biggest annoyance was the few cable channels and the small TV. I know we did not come here to watch TV but there were only about 12 channels (reminded me of my youth). The TV was smaller than the one in my bedroom at home.
Finally, and this is not in the control of the homeowner but three homes over in front is where the cruise ship tenders are parked every night (about 15 of them). As there are no ships on the weekend the tenders are there every weekend. From house 9 you see them off to the right. I would not want to be looking right at these things every day. Maybe ask the island agent if they have changed the mooring location before you book as the neighbour told me in rougher seas they move them in front of this home (there are mooring buoys installed).

Would I stay here again? I would. Aside from the renovation mentioned above just fixing the other items is small stuff and would make the place a much better stay.

The location and the home layout are the plus.

Booking with Cayman Villas was easy, efficient and Noelle on the island had everything ready for us and did a great job.

Thanks, we had a great time.

Dear John,
Many thanks for your wonderful detailed review of Caribbean Paradise. We are delighted that you and your family enjoyed your vacation and we very much look forward to welcoming you back to the island soon! We all well aware that the villa needs some upgrades and have had two meetings with the owner to discuss what needs to be done. The property will be upgraded in the near future, when there is some availability!
Kind regards,

“Family Vacation”

The condo was beautiful and the manager was very easy to work with. The beach is not like Seven Mile Beach. It is a little rocky but it gorgeous. It is very close to everything.
