Me and my husband are use to resorts but we always feel like we’re missing the local aspect of travel so we opted for staying at a guesthouse to be more around the locals and “real” parts of st Lucia . This was by far one of the best experiences we have had so far . If you are staying at the keep it cool guest house I must suggest you go for room 3 or 4 if available the view is amazing !! We originally book room 2 but were offered room 3 for a price difference being that our vacation ended up having a few date changes and it was completely worth it . Now let me get to our host Ms. Debra she definitely took on a motherly momma bear role for us and we greatly appreciate it from taking us grocery shopping to giving us rides out to the city and showing us out from time to time it really felt like we were visiting family . The kitchen is shared but having neighbors wasn’t ever a problem even being smaller then a hotel we barely saw our other house guests. This place was the best for not only its price but it’s location a short hill walk down to the bus right near Rodney mall and several beaches we were also linked up with a driver the goes by the name of Francis which was also great bang for your buck and if we ever go back to st Lucia this will be the place we stay
Keep Cool Guesthouse offers good value for money. This guesthouse is well equipped, very clean and provides a very homely vibe. Debra was a great host. Very kind and welcoming, even suggesting activities for us We were so delighted with our accommodation we stayed an additional night.
Whilst this guesthouse has many positives, there are some negatives, namely the location. A vehicle should be considered a requirement for staying at this property as it is a fair distance away from the major roadway and other attractions. Also the access road to the property is a steep incline in a deplorable state, poorly lit at points during the night and dangerous to traverse with a two wheel drive vehicle when wet. Whilst it is understood that this roadway may not be the direct responsibility of the property owners, prior warning would have been greatly appreciated.
