Went there for dinner and immediately felt at home! The food was amazing and the service was outstanding!! Decided to go there by way of a recommendation from our hotel and we could not have been happier! The fried cheese appetizer was amazing!! Portions were huge! Best churrasco I've ever had!!! BYOB but there is a liquor store at the corner and the staff even offered to get it for us!

Wonderful fresh locally sourced seafood choices. If it's your first time visiting, the red snapper is a must! The restaurant is BYOB so come prepared.

Hands down one of the best restaurants in San Juan. Located in La Placita. Ask your cab driver to drop you off at Jose Enrique. Don't be alarmed when you get dropped off in front of a small looking, non pretentious house. You won't see a sign for the restaurant but you are there.

They do not take reservations so arrive early, put your name on the list. They start taking names at 6pm (you'll see the line starting). Seating starts at 6:30pm. If you arrive after 7pm, expect about a 2 hour wait. If this happens, grab drinks at bars next door, listen to salsa and dancing on the streets. Hostess will text you when you're table is ready. Currently it's BYOB. Wine shop around the corner if you forget. Don't know if this has changed.

Is it worth it? HELL YES! Jose Enrique does some great things with food. There is a board you order from. As the night progresses there are items on the menu that will run out. I would recommend eating family style/sharing and ordering a couple things off the menu so you can have a little taste of everything.

Recommended by several local people and in the heart of an area where the locals eat and drink! Fun, cute bars all around to visit before you sit down for an amazing dinner! They don't serve drinks so bring one from the many bars surrounding it! Wonderful food! Most dishes are around the $20 per dish! Great area to experience the true Puerto Rico night life!

We had heard about the restaurant as a recommendation through the hotel. We were told they take no reservations and that there would be somewhat of a wait. We went one day during lunch and one day during dinner. When you first arrive seems a little sketchy. There is no sign showing that it is a restaurant. Looks like someone's house, but when you get in the walls are filled with amazing art and filled with spoons. Very very cool. The wait for dinner was much longer than lunch. Both days were different menus. The servers come around with a board explaining the menu and once something is finished, it is crossed off the menu. Desserts were great. We had a sampler of different ice creams including Dulce de Leche. Yum!
