We have just returned from the Azul SENSATORI Jamaica and we cannot fault it. We booked a swim up room in the adult area and my daughter and son in law booked a honeymoon suite also in the adult area. On arrival my daughter was shown to her honeymoon suite but we were taken to a swim up room in the family area. Once I pointed this out and went back to reception with proof of my booking they set about preparing the correct room for us. Yes we had to wait a couple of hours but we sat in the honeymoon suite with our daughter. This was beautiful. We were eventually shown to our room and it was beautiful. The beds are so comfortable, there is no bath but I prefer a shower anyway. We had a massive swim up bed on our verandah and also a large comfortable sun bed behind that. We had a fridge stocked with beer, water and soft drinks replenished daily. There was also tea and coffee making facilities. Yes we were near the road but to be honest it didn’t bother us that much. At times it was noisy but it never kept us awake at night. The food was really good but could get a bit repetitive the second week. All branded spirits available day and night at all the bars. The hotel was super clean and so well looked after. All staff were so friendly and helpful it was unbelievable. I couldn’t fault any of them. Even being remembered by the coffee bar staff for my fix of breakfast tea which was a lovely touch with so many guests at the hotel. The beach is stunning and out of this world. Yes there are stingrays but they are large enough to see in the water and will get out of your way if they possibly can. We took many photos of them. We also saw starfish jellyfish and crabs. Well it is the Caribbean only to be expected. The security around the hotel and the beach is second to none. They really care about your safety. I wouldn’t hesitate to return. A beautiful stunning resort. So relaxing and a little taste of heaven. I hope to return and soon.

We arrived today the 1st May after a ridiculous 2.5 hour coach journey we were told would take 1hr 29 minutes. The entrance is right on the main road and the main pool literally in view of where the coach drops you off. Pretty disgusting really.

They got the rooms completely mixed uk my son was booked to sleep in the room with my mum which had been booked as a swim up room and was told he cannot sleep in there due to health and safety.

The other room we have had a wooden staircase and no view whatsoever. All I can hear in the room is the main road noise, motorbikes and lorry’s passing it backs right onto the main road and you can see another water park is practically overhanging us.

Another couple next door said they had the same issue on arriving yesterday. Disgusting considering the amount of money paid and guest relations have been dealing with my husband by are not offering us anything different stating his is what we booked.

There is not even a bath in the room, the room is completely shabby with chopped tiles and marked walls everywhere it smells unclean and he televisions don’t work.

Literally sounds like we are sleeping next to a motorway

First, I have to tell you that I am an Emerald Member of Karisma's Prestige/Exotic vacation club. So some of the things I will comment on may not apply to all travelers.
We have been Exotic Members since 2011 and we travel almost exclusively to their properties. But this was my first time in Jamaica. We had a week of three gals (met a solo gal while there). From the sign at the airport with our names, to the time we checked out....heck even after we were home, the staff was incredible, the property, beautiful, the food, Amazing.
Let me tell you about Davita. Davita was our in-suite Butler, who was assigned to us as we are members. I don't even know how to start this review but to say she made our vacation not only memorable, but truly amazing. To say her service was stellar would be a disservice to the level of care and attention she gave us.
Every need was met, ever slight hint of a "want" was met before we asked for it. She helped with planning a prefect vacation once there. Even after we departed, she followed up to ask how our flight home was. Who does that?
Once on the beach, we had three amazing beach butlers, Ricardo, Sharee and Shondice (Sp?). They were so attentive and every need was met.
I also want to recognize Erol, who is the Gardener/groundsmen. We spoke to him the first day and he brought us coconuts to drink, and flowers for our beach bed everyday!
Jamaica was beautiful, the resort was amazing, but the people! They made our trip, and we will be back with friends!

Room Tip: Premium rooms are worth the cost!

This hotel is a little bit like a diamond in the rough in that it does have the potential to be a true 4 star resort. We arrived by private taxi but got the impression they were not expecting us (there was no sparkling wine on arrival and they had to rush and get us a drink from the bar) although we were given the wet towels. After that check in was simple and we were shown to our room, as we had a little one we were put in a ground floor family room in block 5. If you are traveling with babies or toddlers try to get a ground floor room as the folks above us had to haul their buggy up a set of stairs. After we got settled we began a two week stay so we can share the following.


The Beach

This is probably the best-selling thing about this place, the pictures you see in the brochures of 7 mile beach are 100% accurate. We stayed in the main section of the beach next to the Garfield beach bar and was able to get a Bali bed every day, there were even spare Bali beds and sun loungers so no drama there. There were sellers on the beach going up and down but they totally respected your space, if you were not interested you just had to smile and say, "no thank you".

If you are going here for the water sports then you will be disappointed, there are no reefs in swimming distance to the beach (without risking your life in the boat lanes) and things like paddle boarding and canoeing are charged at an hourly rate. I did two dives while I was there, the dive team where amazing but I was left wanting more from an overpriced dive trip - for diving you would be better off booking outside of the hotel.

Lastly the threat from stingrays is VERY real so please keep an eye out for yourself and young children. I was stung in the first week in my foot while wading out with my two-year old and another child was stung in the second week. The pain (depending on the size or the ray) is about 10 times worse than a hornet sting...and the pain does get worse so be aware.

The Food

We ate all the restaurants and you cannot fault the place for choice and quality. The Akee restaurant has a lovely setting and the Italian is perfect for a romantic dinner. The Palms and Mahogany restaurants were always a safe bet, the Asian restaurant was ok. However something needs to be done about the Garfield restaurant - we were left feeling a bit confused by the experience. The restaurant design and atmosphere bears no relation to the kind of food they serve for evening dinner.

Room Service....just don't bother.

The Entertainment

Entertainment during the day in general is not great but at the same time if you want to just relax during the day this might not be something to care about. Evening entertainment started out poor but got better in the second week. I had a brief chat with the Entertainment Manager for Karisma while out there and he mentioned this is something they are keen to improve so watch this space.

For toddlers and young kids there is limited entertainment and activities apart from the kids club. There is a kids water park there most of the time it was switched off because no one uses it. One of the main reasons for this is that there is NO WHERE for parents sit. In other resorts you tend to get some sun loungers or shaded areas but this did not have any of that.

Swimming Pools - the main pool by reception is good, the main swim up bar pool however is too cold for toddlers and babies even in the heat. A friend of ours child's lips started to go blue after 45mins in there. The activity pool however is absolutely perfect and very chilled.

The Rooms

As mentions above we stayed in the family block, here we could hardly hear any traffic, the rooms was clean to a great standard every day and the fridge fully stocked. Only minor thing with the room is that there is not a lot of storage space for a family room and the sliding doors between the main bedroom and bathroom is just weird especially if one has to do "the business".

The Staff

For me the staff at this resort 110% made the holiday for us, they were so good with our little boy when at the beach or in the restaurants. A couple of names to mention:

Akeem - was always on point with his service when serving in the Palms restaurant.
Sadae - kept us entertained when ever she was working at the beach bar.
Branden, Leroy and Sherwayne - a fantastic groups of lifegaurds and who kept our son entertained the entire time we were there.
Oscar – Entertainment Manager, thanks for taking the time to listen!

In the hospitality industry front line staff like the names mentioned above are key to success so keep on investing in them!

The next couple of points are feedback for the Karisma folks:

Entertainment area - You might want to consider moving the entertainment area to the other side of the property where the movie nights are shown. As a parent having a the entertainment area next to the swimming pool is a BIG no no. At that time of night kids want to let of steam and they can't do that when there is a risk of one of them falling into a pool.

Promulgating Information - A simple notice board in reception or by the main pool with highlights of the day such as activity changes, restaurants that are closed would go a LONG way.

Overall it was a fantastic holiday and "toddlermoon" for us, the folks at the resort did make it special for us when the could however its unlikely we would come back the Azul Sensatori Negril and that is ONLY because we feel it could be more child friendly, however if you are a couple then this would be a fantastic resort for you.

We absolutely loved this vacation From the moment our Limo Chauffeur picked us up at the airport and from then on. We were greeted at the entrance to the resort by 6 of their best employees. Our awesome butlers Shelly-Ann and Komora made this our most unforgettable Karisma holiday ever. The level of service that we experienced on this holiday surpassed all of our previous holidays. The facility and beach was next to perfect. 7 days was not near enough time at this beautiful location. Even the service at the restaurants was superb and we will never forget the Asian restaurant and being catered to by Janet. OMG I could talk forever and I could mention the most enjoyable conversation with the manager ( Scott?) on the night of the marshmallow roast but you get the idea we WILL return.
