We were staying at the Mountain Cinnamon hotel and had dinner here on our first night. Dinner was not served in the hotel restaurant but at their beach restaurant on this particular evening. The location was nice and service ok but the food wasn’t great, we both had tuna for mains and it was a bit too overcooked for our liking. This was our least favourite meal during our stay in Grenada, however we did eat at their beach restaurant once during the day and that was much better.

Good food in an airy restarutn - althogh the restaurant was part of a reception and bar area and was sited between a swimming pool courtyard and the road. (Road not really an issue since itwsa well below the lelve of the restaurant.) Pleasant enough but I would not agree with the Bradt travel guide description of it s "upmarket".

We initially walked to Savvys along Grand Anse for lunch. The place looked inviting and the food good. However, we soon learnt that the the service was characterised by studious indifference and at best glacial in speed. Nevertheless, the food was excellent when it appeared. For example a 40 minute wait for two boules of ice cream, the kitchen was stacked up apparently. On the strength of the food we decided to book for an evening meal. We were told this was possible and left our details. Duly arrived at the appointed time to find the restaurant full and our booking non-existent. We explained we had a booking, which was checked on the system. Incongruous to us we were then told they do not take bookings!!! There was an insincere apology and the offer of a table away from the restaurant. We gave up at this point and went to Umbrellas.

By far the best service we have had thus far!! The meal was excellent as well, everything was perfect. We had low expectations given the service and food we have experienced so far BUT was pleasantly surprised! Bravo, great service and food can be found in Grenada! We will be back!

We’ll keep it brief because there isn’t much good to say about this place, except that it’s on the beach. We were pointed to our seats (don’t move). We sat there for 15 minutes without menus or water. When I got up to get menus I was scolded by the waitress. “I’ll be right there” she said. Another 15 minutes passed so I thought I would order my own drinks from the bar which was right behind me. Still seated, I turned around only to be face-to-face with a big unattractive bare butt. Yuck. (Have some class…wear a cover-up when you go into a restaurant.). We left.

The very kind & friendly security guard asked if we enjoyed our meal. That’s how long we were there without the slightest bit of attention.. OK so not so brief. Sorry.
