I went on a 4 night girls trip at the Royalton Bavaro. We were “Diamond Club” members, which afforded us extra perks, including a butler to attend to our needs. Felix Felix was assigned to our room, and he was fabulous. He was attentive, friendly, helpful, and always checking in to make sure or stay was fabulous. All the staff made you feel like a VIP guest, and the resort itself was clean, entertaining, and beautiful. The food and drinks were good, and always readily available. We had a blast here, I recommend it highly. Ask for Felix Felix!

Just returned to Canada after 7 days at the Royalton Bavaro. The weather was great. The resort was beautiful. The service was perfect.

Zero complaints!

Check in does take a little time but they were very helpful and thorough. We loved that our bracelets were our keys. I also loved that the bracelet isn't made entirely of plastic and is a little more environmentally friendly.

Our room was in the middle of the resort on the back side, facing the Majestic. We actually had a bit of an ocean view from our deck. We made no requests other than to have a King sized bed - which we got. The rooms were super nice! Much cleaner and more modern than any other resort we've been to. The beds and linens were comfortable. Air Conditioning worked really well. Huge plus: TV in the room has the list of activities, restaurants, fitness classes, things that are included/not, etc. You can also order room service from your TV. For the most part, the rooms were also very quiet - sound does travel from hallway but I've never been to a resort where that was not the case. Sound also travels in from adjoining room but there were no issues on our part with that.

The cafe was awesome! We spent time here everyday. The girls that work in there are so sweet and proud of their work.

All of the restaurants were really good. Reservations are only required at Zen for Teppanyaki. You can make reservations at some of the others but we never really needed to. We loved Rio and Zen - the sushi at Zen was great - one of the sushi chefs made us a heart shaped roll. Rio was probably our favourite of all. No gastro problems - we ate everything.

There are several bars - service was pretty quick and the drinks were definitely strong. They always had water available.

You can walk the beach forever, in either direction, from the resort.

Fitness centre is really nice. New gear. Lots of classes to keep you busy.

There were a lot of kids at the resort. Between the beach, lazy river, kids pool and activities, it seemed like they were entertained.

All of the staff were very friendly and happy. We had great service and the experience was very positive. I would go back to this resort. *It's not a Sandals (or other equally higher end brand)- if that's what you're looking for, spend an extra $1000+ per person and go there. Personally, we were torn as to whether to spend the extra money and go back to Sandals but I'm happy we saved our money and went here.

*Edit: If I changed one thing about our stay, I would have potentially gotten a swim out room. We had considered it but decided to stay with the standard room. If you're in one of the rooms facing the inside of the resort, a swim out wouldn't be very private but you'd get to people watch.

The bonus of being on the backside of the resort, at least on the side facing the Majestic, was that it was quieter. That being said, the resort isn't very loud. They do have music at night around the bars but it doesn't go really late (10pm I think).

We did not have Diamond Club. There certainly are added conveniences with it but they weren't worth it for us. I know that the butler does make reservations for you. I think that the Diamond Club gets to make their reservations first, even at the restaurants that do not require reservations, which means that you're always eating at the time that you choose. During our whole trip, we only made reservations at Zen. We ate supper at Grazie (no wait), Rio (<10 minute wait), Hunter Steakhouse (30 minute wait), Oceanside (no wait) and Zen for sushi (no wait). You could ask for name brand liquors at the bars and in my experience, we got them. Other than that, I can't see where you get the value for the extra expense BUT as I said, we did not have Diamond Club so maybe there were other advantages.

Stayed here with my friends for 4 nights. We all absolutely loved this resort. Food was very good and the resort is extremely clean and well maintained. Lots of fun activities at night. Our butler Felix Felix did a phenomenal job taking care of us every day. He made sure we had everything we needed, made dinner reservations for us and answered 1000 of our questions about the Dominican culture and traditions. He checked on us several times a day to ensure we were satisfied with our experience in Punta Cana. I would love to come back to this resort. 5 stars!!!

We arrived on the 22nd April for 2 weeks at this wonderful hotel, no problem with sunbeds- always plenty available. Hotel is kept immaculate by its hard working staff who always say hello and have a ready smile, we specially love the buffet and our waitress Wendy Trinadad who has given us excellent service throughout we also love the beach bar and the exceptional service by darlin, Andy and jorge, who have made us feel so welcome and special, and our room service has been wonderful due to the high care of junior a Vicente who with a ready smile and nothing was to much trouble for him, we love the rooms and the walk out pool is amazing after a hot day on the beach, we still have 5 days to go and we already don't want to leave.

We were diamond club and enjoyed our trip. We will definitely plan to stay again. Felix took great care of us. Upon our check in, he took at least 30-40 minutes to walk us throughout the entire resort to show us where everything was located.
My wife and I visited for our 25th anniversary. We noticed various banners hung on doors for newlyweds, birthdays, anniversary, etc. On our second day there, my wife commented that we didn't have one yet as we returned to our room for the night. When we arrived, we were surprised with our own banner and champagne on ice inside the room with another banner with balloons decorating the interior. It was perfect timing. Felix also surprised us with a fully drawn jacuzzi bathtub full of hot water topped off with bubbles, balloons, and flower petals placed on top of the bubbles as as well as around the edge of the tub. The towels were folded into 2 swans with small flower petals for eyes. This was on our 4th night and was a wonderful surprise.
All of the staff were great in addition to Felix, Felix. The resort seemed full but never overcrowded. We never had any trouble finding a spot at the pool or beach. The beach is very good for swimming and has a sandy bottom out to the rope divider.
There is a lot to do for adults and kids also. We didn't leave the resort other than for a scuba diving excursion and still didn't see or do everything. It's a very kid friendly resort with lots of water slides and kid friendly water features. They also have a teen zone with a rock wall, pool table, etc.
The food was good but I would only rate it 4 out of 5 stars. Grazie Italian restaurant didn't impress us much. Hunter's steak house was excellent. Zen was also very good. Room service was good and it came in handy for a couple of mornings that we got a late start and didn't make it in time for breakfast.

Thank Royalton Bavaro for a wonderful anniversary vacation and thanks again to Felix for making it special.
