The property is an old, single family mansion. We opted to upgrade to a deluxe room for an extra $25 and it was a good choice, as we were in a larger room with access to a large, set-back terrace with a view over the square that was lovely a night to take a glass of wine and unwind. The rooms are charming, if a bit dark. The bathroom was functional. There is wifi out in the square in front of the hotel. The sour note was first morning breakfast -- the woman who was in charge of seating and taking orders was, to put it mildly, not friendly. When I made the mistake of asking for a third cup of coffee she YELLED AT ME! "Three cups? It's ENOUGH!! NO MORE AFTER THIS!!!" I mean.... WTF??? It's not like I wasn't paying for what I was asking for.... The next day she was in no better mood. I received my omelet quickly. But it was another 5 minutes before the coffee arrived. Then 10 minutes before the toast came. And the fruit juice never came at all. Bottom line -- the hotel is a good location, and it's an interesting property, but the staff have need of some training and, frankly, some "nice pills."More
