So after calling the palapa hut for 20 minutes and finally getting through and paying extra - this is the obstructed view one gets because they’ve now allowed the recreational vendor to place umbrellas
IN FRONT of the resort’s palapas.

AWFUL experience.

We enjoyed our stay in one of the 3 bed room villas. It has a full kitchen with laundry, 3 bed, 3 bath.
The property has a great location on palm beach, lazy river, multiple pools and hot tubs. They have pool bars, beach bars and restaurants all on property. And a casino!
The staff was very nice, and helpful with excursions.
The shops are walkable from here and there are grocery stores close by.

The Marriott Ocean Club is a beautiful property, and the rooms are newly renovated. We have stayed here many times in the past, and I have nothing but positive things to say about this property except for one thing....the hut reservation policy. It has always been and continues to be a tedious and convoluted process. In the past, guests would begin lining up at 6:15 AM to secure a hut. It is slightly different now. Now you either have to keep track of the time to reserve specific huts between 2:00 and 3:00 (not all huts), or call at 7:00 AM for other huts. Good luck with that. Imagine every guest who wants a hut calling at 7:00 AM. Ridiculous. The solution is so simple. Like Surf Club next door, make the huts complimentary on a first come, first serve basis. Consider that your guests are either loyal Marriott patrons who have bought or earned points, or they are guests who, in most cases, are paying $500+ per night. Securing a hut free of hassle should be a perk for guests. We stayed at Surf Club recently and getting a hut each day was simple and stress-free. Another solution would be to allow guests to reserve a hut online. Again, this is a beautifully well-managed property, but hope to see the hut reservation process improved or eliminated. Your guests are here to relax.

nicely updated rooms. beautiful views from most any room. ocean club definitely quieter than surf club. And definitely a busier area than resorts down at Eagle Beach. Activities could be better, kinda drab.

We loved our room at Ocean Club. First class. It would be a 5 star rating if not for the front desk staff.

We were checked in by a woman who was obviously training someone, but she was very haughty, condescending, and rude from the get go. So, they assigned a room to us and they did advise us there was a partial view of the roof (which actually meant it was not a very good view at all). We went to the room, walked in, got on the phone and asked to be changed to a room with a better view. I was told, “Once you enter a room it cannot be undone”. We didn’t touch a thing except the telephone. Then she proceeded to tell me that, “We told you if you accepted that room you could not make a change”. They did not say that at all. How can you accept a room and not be able to see what you are getting? We have paid too much to be treated like that. I forced the issue and they relented, but it shouldn’t be that way. This was our 40th anniversary and we did not want that view. Ocean Club, you need to help your senior staff to be a little bit friendlier. That is not acceptable for a premier Marriott property.
