“What an amazing find!!”
Reviewed 1 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Everything about our holiday experience was quite simply spot on. The Hay Barn was perfect for 2 adults, 3 teenagers and 2 labradors. Cosy, but not squashed at all. The decor and thoughtful attention to balancing the delicate combination of traditional barn style detail with the mod-cons that a family require was exceptional. This is truly a diamond in the middle of nowhere.

On our arrival the property was clean and tidy and there was a warm welcome from Teresa. We slept well (temperature fine, beds very comfy), cooked well (all kitchen equipment imaginable was there) and walked well. The forest was on the doorstep - literally! - and happy evenings were spent taking the time to watch the sun go down over the hills. We spent happy days walking in the forest and running with the dogs along the beach. Happy memories have been made.

There was thoughtful attention to detail with a big chest full of games and a shelf full of books. Yes, there was free wifi, but far preferable to spend time with family.

We're looking forward to escaping to you one day soon. Thank you for letting us stay.

This review is particularly welcome as we were away on holiday ourselves and relied on our cleaning lady to welcome you. Thank you Hannah - it's a relief to know all went according to plan in our absence and that you had such a great time at Brechfa Forest Barns. Come back soon!

“24th Wedding Anniversary”
Reviewed 18 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Stayed here for our Anniversary with our Boxer Dog Reuben absolutely Fab Weekend would recommend to anyone wanting to take their pet & the added bonus of having the Mud Trek for mountain biking fanatics. Nikki also cooks scrummy meals for you which we enjoyed on our Anniversary night, the setting is to die for &. The Coast can easily be reached which we took advantage of having a swimming mad dog x

“What a wonderful place, tranquil, relaxing, warm, welcoming hosts. Doggy heaven.”
Reviewed 16 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Nikki & Jay are the proprietors, we arrived to a warm welcome. The Bay tree is a great cottage since it has views both sides of the property. Fully equipped, literally, kitchen utensils, cleaning equipment, everything you could think of. Very clean, TOTALLY dog friendly to our 7 dogs! Amazing dog walks, forest and beaches. Our fave of Nikkis home cooking was the Spanish Chicken & Sticky Toffee pudding. They also helped me out big time as one of my beagles had to endure an emergency visit to the vet whilst there. We have rebooked for next year. Lovely, lovely, lovely.

“The most relaxed and welcoming dog friendly place I have visited!! :)”
Reviewed 15 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Loved every minute of my stay here...I had the pleasure of the 'bike shed' with my 2 dogs whilst my friends had the other 2 cottages with 9 dogs between them. 11 dogs in our group in total and what a blast they had. It really was the most relaxed, dog friendly place I have had the pleasure of visiting. We had some wonderful forest walks, and visited some beautiful dog friendly beaches. I can't thank Nikki and Jason enough for making us all so very welcome! :)

“With two labs in the Old Bike Shed”
Reviewed 11 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

It was our first visit to Wales, so we decided on a cottage that is centrally located between both the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. We came upon The Old Bike Shed at Brechfa Forrest Barns. It is a very small cottage, but all the more cosier we thought. It is quirky and quaint and it has a lovely feel about it. We felt right at home. I liked that the dogs were in the same room (as one of them squeals when left alone at night in an unfamiliar place), but due to the fact that we were up on a mezzanine, were unable to get into our bed(so we could have a good night sleep too). The cottage is set on top of a hill with beautiful views on the mountains and the surrounding fields in the peaceful, green and lush county of Carmathenshire. The owners gave us tips as to were to go and we had a lovely time indeed. Thank you Nikki and Jason. http://www.discovercarmarthenshire.com/dog-friendly/index.html
