“Cosy cottage set in a wonderful place with gorgeous views”
Reviewed 2 May 2011 for a stay in November 2010

We spent a lovely week in Tintern Abbey cottage, with outstanding views of Tintern Abbey and a wide range of walks available right from the doorstep.

The cottage was wonderful - incredibly well equipped and tastefully furnished - with everything you could want and need for a comfortable week. The log fires were a particular treat and made for very cosy evenings in. The master bedroom upstairs was a good size for a cottage and the bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom was also nice and the jacuzzi bath another treat (ps. be sparing with bubble bath!).

We took the dog out walking every day and made good use of all the walking trails nearby. There are however lots more within a short drive away if you want to venture a further.

We also visited a few of the local places: Tintern Abbey (a must, even if you can see it from the cottage every day!), Parva Farm Vineyard (worth a trip for a fun chat about Welsh wine and a tasting), Raglan castle (beautiful) and N S James butchers in Raglan for some delicious local meats and delicacies. We also went to the Hardwick restaurant, just outside Abergavenny, for a treat and had a delicious meal set in a lovely restaurant.

It was a lovely, peaceful week and Fiona took great care in making sure that we were comfortable and happy and that we had everything that we needed.

“Beautiful setting for our Valentine's weekend”
Reviewed 17 February 2011 for a stay in February 2011

We couldn't have asked for more - such a beautiful cottage and location! Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts, and the welcome we received made us feel like old friends rather than guests. It's often difficult to find quality accommodation to stay in with our dog - she was made just as welcome as we were, with biscuits and fuss on arrival. Highly recommended.
