We have just returned from a two day at the Royal Oak Kelsall near Chester and thoroughly enjoyed it. This break was purchased via Groupon and excellent value. The rooms were lovely clean and the bathroom was clean modern and functional. The hotel itself was very nice more traditional but extremely welcoming and the staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent, a good choice with choices of continental or full English. If you had the cooked version it was cooked perfectly and very hot. The evening meals were very nice and cooked fresh for you whilst you waited. The hotel is a nice base for anyone visiting Chester or surrounding areas as we were. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit the Cheshire area and if you were fortunate to purchase a Groupon voucher it is particularly good value.

Room Tip: Room 105 was quiet looking out on to a garden seating area, with the usual tea making facilities and a lovely big shower.

2 night stay. Excellent hotel. Food quality for our evening meal was very good indeed, it was cooked fresh when ordered and was delicious as well as good value for the money, with a very friendly and efficient service. The same can be said of breakfast all in all we had a most enjoyable stay and would highly recommend it.

A very good hotel, perfectly placed for the Sandstone trail and Chester. Good food and lovely accommodation. Staff efficient, helpful and friendly. Our travel zoo break was a wonderful offer. I would recommend this hotel if visiting Cheshire.

Room Tip: No lift to rooms.
