We visited Bella Italia at 6.00 on a Sunday evening to find them fully booked; having geared up for a Lasagne, we opted for Zizzi around the corner.
I will keep this brief; an excellent Lasagne, served with garlic bread with Mozzarella and caramelized onions;
The service however was accompanied with perhaps the worst attitude I have ever experienced in a restaurant.

What draft beer do you have ?
Nuuuuuuthing . . . . accompanied with a bored look and a gaze out of the window into middle distance.

Cue the next 45 minutes trying to get her attention for drinks re-fills, with lots of arm in the air and swiveling around on our seats.

On paying the bill, our Daughter offered her Cineworld card which gives her 25% off . . .
This is out of date; cannot accept.
No it's not; please try it and see.
Yes it is; I cannot accept.
Etc, etc for 20 minutes . . .
She finally reluctantly tries the card; it works fine, and takes £13 off the bill.

Did we use some of it as a tip ?
No; we put it towards our next visit to the excellent Bella Italia, where the service may on occasions be slow, but is always with a smile.
And an ice cold beer- on draft

We had booked a table at Bella Italia near by as we had never been there before. Having waited for 15 minutes and had not been acknowledged or given a table, we left and went to Zizzi's, a restaurant we have been to many times before. Although we didn't have a booking, they fitted us in. There was a lively buzz in the restaurant and we thought we would have to wait quite a while for our main courses but were pleasantly surprised. We had a tastecard so received one main meal and one dessert free. The desserts weren't overlarge which suited us, as often they are just too big to manage on your own. Our waitress wasn't particularly engaging but the food was good and we enjoyed our meal out.

Me and three friends recently went to the zizzi Bexleyheath due to the fact it was on the taste card.
It transpired (when we got the bill) zizzi Bexleyheath would only accept one tastecard per table. I then showed the terms and conditions of the taste card and it clearly states one taste card per 2 people. Therefore, if there were 4 of us we should have been able to use two. Although we showed this in black and white the manager still refused, she also refused to split the bill into 2 tables. Me and my friends were not there for a cheap night out however it became a matter of principle considering we had the terms and conditions in front of us. The manager explained it was zizzis way to make more money, although this was clearly obvious, she continued to inform us this change had come down from head office 6 months ago. We continued to be confused as a friend and I have used multiple tastecards per table at zizzi restaurants in Canterbury and Bromley within the last 6 months, therefore I politely asked to see the communication from head office, as being a supervisor for another company all communications are usually sent by email - the manager then said there wasn’t one.
Usually when there are changes in policy, it is communicated to customers however I haven’t received a policy update by Zizzi or Tastecard. In the end we accepted the managers offer of using one tastecard with an additional 20% off of food. However, my friends, family and I will not be returning to zizzis Bexleyheath due to the fact the manager proceeded to talk about our table to other staff members which made us feel very uncomfortable and the fact that the policy clearly stated one tastecard per two people and the manger never allowed us to use the discount we were clearly entitled to.

We had a great little lunch here, love the interior and the service and the food was OK, really. On the approach though we were greeted by two immense industrial wheelie dustbins that obscured the menu outside on the wall, in front of which a man was finishing a can of lager in the middle of the day, so that he could chuck it on the piles of rubbish oozing out of the bins and walk away. This is not an appetising or sanitary way to keep the front of any restaurant? It was repulsive. Surely the manager can find a solution to this, or at worst, install a cemented tree pot outside with something to even partly partition the bins from the entrance.
