We had a great dinner here, lovely food, well prepared, balanced and not only very good to eat, also lovely to see. Service is good and friendly, location is central in the small towm. Easy parking nearby. Sitting inside or outside is both lovely.
You cannot be wrong choosing this restaurant for a very nice meal!

Beautiful dining room and good service. As for the food, nice presentation but mediocre taste with all our dishes. For my opinion you go to a restaurant, the food they can offered is the most important 80/100, rest is service and surrounding. Never really agreed with this Michelin starr restaurant rating.
Going back: No

We were staying in Bolzano and asked the Hotel Greif to recommend a Michelin star or above rated restaurant. They directed us to Zur Rose and we went on a Saturday night. It was about a 15 minute taxi ride from Bolzano. We arrived a few minutes early and checked out the square next to the restaurant. Very cute.

The inside is very nice; refined but not too formal. Service was very good and felt unhurried. They have an extensive wine list and we were able to find a nice reserve Pinot Nero from the region. We had a mix of pasta and fish and it was all delicious. At the end of the meal they called us a taxi to take us back to the hotel.

Overall just what we were looking for - a nice meal, good service and pretty interior.

The quality of the food and the high level of service meant that we had a fantastic meal. For a Michelin starred restaurant the mark up on wines was reasonable and they have a good wine list including many from local producers. Highly recommended.

We only had the opportunity to have lunch at this marvelous location. I think it would be worthwhile to stay at the hotel and have dinner. Then you could really indulge in the wine and not need to drive afterwards. Lunch is a brief affair: 12-2. Uncrowded and delightful. Note that the 60-minute maximum free parking in lots excludes 12-2, so you're safe to park without worry.

The dishes are all impeccably prepared, as one would expect. The food melts in the mouth, just divine. We had lamb and beef dishes, and started with artichoke soup with ravioli. The dishes are presented as artistic paintings and the taste is commensurate. The wines we sampled were outstanding. Go local and you can't miss - they offer the best of the best.

In addition to the dessert course we ordered, we were served a plate of miniature sweets. This was de rigour decades ago and I was so pleased to see it continued in Zur Rose. Adds a very gracious touch.

The service was delightful and unpretentious. The stemware and service were lovely. Cellphone connections are blocked in the dining room. How civilized!

In short, a fabulous dining experience.
