Cottage was quaint and quirky, and very cute. Certainly one of the best equipped holiday cottages I've ever stayed in, the owners had thought of just about everything. Beds were clean and comfortable, always a plus. Tarvin is a small village, so not a lot of shops, just a nice coffee shop, pub, small supermarket and a fish and chip shop, but the villagers were really friendly, and it's only 20 minutes to Chester by local bus. Our only criticisms would be that it could do with some updating, there are too many knick knacks and it's very cluttered. Also, the lounge could've done with a good clean, spiders webs in a few of the corners and the outside conservatory was full of leaves and also quite dirty. Shame, because it could be so lovely. The DVD player was a bit ancient and it took ages to get it to work because no instructions and nothing new to watch, very old DVDs and cassettes. Overall, with a bit of TLC, could be great.
Very comfortable for us( just two retirees), with local convenience shops, restaurant, pubs and cafe. Bus service to Chester or easy drive to other locations. Cottage a little bit cluttered with excessive books, DVDs, plants, mats etc. Owners were welcoming and friendly. Plenty of things to do for kids if shut in.
Cottage was warm, clean and fully kitted out with toys, games, books and anything else we may need. Well located, close to amenities and a quick drive into Chester.
We had a cute stay in a wonderful quite area. Just what we needed and looking for. The area is fantastic with lots to do. The host was also very nice.
