We stayed in this house as a group of 7 friends going to a wedding at the nearby Lulworth Castle. The house was absolutely perfect for this, a conveniently short distance from both Wool station and the castle (and the excellent Weald arms pub!). Beds were very comfortable and kitchen/dining facilities were spot on. We went on one of the recommended walks to Lulworth Cove on the day after, which was beautiful, even in the rain.
The only issue was that the heating wasn't on when we arrived, but it was fine when we worked out how to get it started. The owners have assured us that they have now updated the instructions for clarity.
We enjoyed our stay at The Pink House. It was a comfortable base and well located. The welcome pack was a nice touch and the hosts were very helpful. Lots of helpful local recommendations which were great. It was a little cramped for two families mainly as the walls are paper thin. A couple of things to mention - shower pressure was poor and WI Fi was inconsistent.
The Pink House Lulworth is perfectly located for exploring the Dorset coast. The house was very well equipped. Deb and John (the owners) made us feel very welcomed with a basket and were just a call away if we should have needed them.
A memorable and restful stay in this well equipped and comfortable house.
The views are stunning,as though one had stepped into a constable painting. We loved watching the deer grazing in the fields opposite and enjoyed the changing colours of the autumn trees in the forestry.
The house itself is well equipped ,with a full kitchen, comfortable beds and underfloor heating ensuring a warm and cosy atmosphere.
Very well placed to enjoy beautiful walks in the woods or along the many spectacular beaches at Lulworh Cove.
We had a week at The Pink House at the end of June. The weather was a mixed bag with quite a few rainy days and some nice sunny days in between. The property was very well equipped with everything you could possibly think of needing and was comfortably furnished throughout. The beds had lovely plump pillows and duvets and were quite comfortable even with a bad back! The only downside was the teeny weeny bath in the bathroom which is really only suitable for children - but no room for a normal size one so you're restricted to the shower. I was determined to have a soak though so I did get in the bath albeit with my knees under my chin lol!! Towels, tea towels, cleaning products all provided. The owners also provided a welcome pack with basics including nice biscuits and a bottle of wine. The house is semi-detached and located in a row of half a dozen or so other residential properties down a dead end road. Parking is a bit tight but we only had one car so it was fine. Unfortunately the neighbours (not attached) just happened to have some sort of construction project on in the back garden whilst we were there so it was a little noisy for a few days at times and several of the neighbours have dogs that bark at any comings and going so our dog responded when he was in the garden too. But it wasn't a problem as such - just might not be for everyone if you're expecting middle of nowhere quietness! It was great to be able to walk right from the door with the dog and there are some nice country views. We enjoyed walking through the local MOD Firing Range & Abandoned Village of Tyneham when open at the weekend. Also spent a nice day at Corfe Castle - fantastic views from the ruins. Lulworth cove was too busy for us daytime and is only tiny so we just took a peek in the evening when it was empty. Durdle Door was also manic and expensive for parking if you only wanted a quick visit plus a long walk down loads of steps to get to the cove. However we drove to Studland Bay a couple of days and had a lovely time on the beach. Also walked on the Heath there. The bay is divided into 3 main beaches and we preferred the south beach. There is a National Trust cafe there and shop, toilets, showers, water sports etc. The sea is very calm and gently shelving and perfect for swimming and messing about in the water. On a wet day we drove to Portland and saw Portland Bill. Then had tea and cake at the Heights Hotel overlooking Portland and Weymouth watching the rain clear and amazing views suddenly appear! All in all a nice week in a lovely family home. Just shame about the weather!
