Great lake near the outskirts of Ueno Park. There is a nice view of the neighboring neighborhood.
Very good for a walk.

This pond is a nice piece of open space in the city. Today it was sprinkled with peddle boats like flamingos and canoes. Everyone was having a great time. YMMV

This pond is kind of small. The view is nice and the boats are really cute shaped as birds and cars. In spring is surrounded by cherry blossoms.

We saw a few dark pink cherry blossoms, but Someiyoshino Sakura were not yet blooming. In the future I should visit the pond between Spring Equinox and the end of March in order to enjoy cherry blossoms.

A gorgeous pond in Ueno with all its wonderful attractions, vestiges of ancient Shitamachi, shrines, museums, the zoo(and its pandas), a theater for the performing arts.

There was once a racetrack around the Pond. I have seen a woodblock print to evidence it. Try that one on your Japanese friends. It is likely they never new it.
