I have stayed twice in Park Hyatt Tokyo, recent one is in August 2017.

It is not the fanciest one but Park Hyatt Tokyo makes you feel really comfortable and offered a relaxed atmosphere.

I especially like its location, which Shinjuku Central Park is just around the corner, but you have to admit that, it is not very convenient for people who uses Tokyo metro systems although hotel offers free shuttle bus to Shinjuku Station.

New York Bar is another good place I like in the hotel.

It may re-new some day, but it is still one of the best kinds.

Room tip: Try getting a room with Park View.

After walking through the front door, you're escorted to the reception area on the 42nd floor for registration. The rooms we well appointed, a good size, and very clean. Try the New York bar on the 52nd floor offered good cocktails, live music, and a tremendous view of the city, though we still can't get used to all the smoking. We would recommend the "happy hour special" in the lobby bar from 5:00 to 8:00 for 60,000¥ per person... sounds expensive but turns out to be good value with the delicious small plates and usually expensive cocktails included (and a million dollar view).

Overall, this was an okay. The staff was very nice and helpful. The area of Shinjuku was amazing. I prefer it over the hustle and bustle of Roppongi. It was nice and serene. The concierge was on point. They definitely go above and beyond. The Japanese restaurant on the other side of the building ( not the hotel) is an amazing little gem.

Now as for the hotel, this place is like stepping into the 90s. They even use old fashioned KEYS instead of cards. The view was a amazing though. For what they are charging, they need to step up their game and renovate the rooms.

There is a shuttle bus every 20min to and from Shinjuku Station, it’s across a big junction from the east exist. Otherwise it’s a 10/15min walk, use the south exit.
Hotel starts on the 41st floor. Reception is quite a walk through this floor but you are guided by a member of staff all the way and the various restaurants and areas explained to you. Checked in early (before midday) and left our bags with reception as room wasn’t ready, went sightseeing and came back and our bags had been taken up to our room. We were taken up to our room and shown around by staff.

Our room was a deluxe room, 2 double beds, 4903.
The room has a closet, which is huge, can store suitcases, iron, hang clothes etc, leaving the room clutter free. The bathroom was really nice, huge and social whilst we were getting ready/bathing.
The room has a tv with some American channels and sport. It has a bose speaker which we used a lot. The view out the window is great over the city and similar to the view from the bar.

We had drinks at the New York bar and dinner at the grill, they managed to fit us in for dinner even though we showed up without a reservation.
The bar has a huge window and live tasteful music starts at 7pm.
We had Kobe beef and Tuna steak for dinner, both exceptional.

Our stay was for honeymoon/Tokyo marathon 2018. The start line for the marathon was outside the hotel which was very handy and the free subway travel for runners and shuttle bus made getting back from the finish easy too.

There is a swimming pool, with lanes and some aerobic classes, and a gym both with great views. There is also a spa for an extra fee (around ¥4300) separate areas for men and women due to it being traditional Japanese, which in the wet area contains, a whirlpool, two saunas, a steam room, plunge pool. There is a relaxation area with magazines, additional massage treatments, lockers and showers. I enjoyed a long shower and taking my time getting ready using all the Aesop products. There are also Aesop products in the room but the area in the spa is nice and relaxing to use them in.

Breakfast, we were given a menu with 3 options, buffet, Japanese or healthy, they had set prices but still confused by this as breakfast was included and pretty much everything was on the buffet anyway. We chose buffet and you still got to choose some eggs from the menu.

Just stayed there one night last week. Absolutely first class hotel, from the room, to the food, to the roof bar, to the staff. Really elegant and fine hotel. Added feature is that it was the hotel featured the Lost in Translation setting. Centrally located, too.
