La Fenice is the largest restaurant in San Domino and offers a bit of everything from meat grill to pizza and seafood. At first sight we found this a bit off-putting fearing that it would impact on quality but we tried it because they have a deal with the diving center close by and we did not regret it - we understood why everyone else was eating there!
Apart from an octopus which was a bit chewy (but that often happens) everything else was very good, including raw seafood and fish. We had a particularly delicious meal the last evening with fish tartare and paccheri with granseola (a type of crab). The crab was hard to eat but it gave an incredibly intense flavour to the pasta. Prices totally reasonable considered the quality and friendly and efficient service in spite of the size of the place. So if you go to Tremiti follow the crowd - go to La Fenice!
