stayed for 1n to enjoy the hot spring baths. outdoor baths in particular were nice. dinner and breakfast were also enjoyable. the standard room was somewhat basic, with no in-room bath, which turned to be not a problem at all. check-in procedure was peculiar, as described in the other reviews, but nevertheless comfortable. the room had nice view to the snowy hill nearby. the shuttle service was very useful - otherwise, excluding the option of private transportation, it would be difficult to get in and out of the village. booking the dinner + breakfast option was also a good choice, seemed that there is not much in the village. no wifi in the rooms was also a bit of a letdown.

I spent a night in this hotel while I have my Christmas holiday in Hokkiaido, Japan. The staff in this hotel is very helpful. I had a room with a beautiful view. The package includes dinner and breakfast. The dinner was great and delicious with traditional Hokkiaido dishes. Breakfast is also good.

They have 2 hot spring areas for man and woman separately. They swap the hot spring in different time slots of the day. So, I can enjoy both areas. Especially the outdoor hot spring is an experience that you must try.

This hotel offers free shuttle transfer to and from Sapporo area.

Room Tip: Better to choose a room with garden view

We are greeted in the front door and checked-in seamlessly with names identified. The onsen is excellent and the set menu dinner is typical Japanese and is served in the restaurant. 45 minutes from Sapporo. This is a perfect relax hotel. The breakfast is buffet better than dinner

We loved our stay in Jyozankei Daiichi Hotel Suizantei. Staff were very polite and helpful. Our room was quite comfy. Enjoyed our dinner and breakfast in the hotel. A very satisfying stay in Jyozankei Daiichi Hotel Suizantei.

Previously i stayed at Hanamomiji in Jozankei but heard that this hotel was pretty good, so this time I'm here to see if it's true.

I came here in Mid october to catch the autumn foilage at Jozankei. If you want to do that, make sure you book hotels way in advance! i booked this place at least 4 months before hand and already a lot of rooms were vacant.

This hotel is more pricey but with reason. The ambience and decor at the front desk was beautiful and the welcome reception was very nice. upon arriving on the shuttle bus, someone will escort you to the reception area and serve you some tea while they prepare the necessary paperwork. All staff were extremely courteous and friendly, which was great. As the room i booked came with dinner and breakfast, we also made the time reservation to have dinner at a later time.

The room was really big and spacious, and the dinner was so good. There was obviously too much food, but that's why i love kaiseki. Plus every season brings about a different menu so it's not always the same.

We had also made a seperate booking to use the private onsen. This cost extra and if you want to you must email the hotel to inform them of that. They do not reply immediately if your booking is too early, say more than a month in advance and i can understand why. Most hotels/ryokans in japan allow online bookings and guests are free to cancel their bookings as late as a week or even a few days before. So it makes sense that the hotels will only send a confirmation emai and start making the necessary preparations closer to your booking date. I am used to this by now and do not think much of it.

If you booked on their japanese website, there is an option to select the free shuttle bus reservation. although you will not receive any confirmation of that, around 1-2weeks before your booking, the hotel should send you an email telling you the place and time. The shuttle bus will pick guests up at Odori station in front of exit 1(you will see a wooden elephant statue) at 2.30pm. do not be late as they will leave on time.

so if you are worried about the shuttle bus service, don:t be. They will email you a week or so before your booking. From there on, their replies are very regular and prompt.

I definitely recommend you book a room that comes with dinner. The kaiseki was really. Breakfast was good too, but i had more variety at Hanamomiji.

If you have some extra money to spend, do consider this hotel. their outdoor onsen is really good, plus they have really good facilities. If not, consider hanamomiji. It is cheaper, has free shuttle bus service, perhaps facilties are not as updated, but the food there was good and so were the rooms.
