“Relaxing in a stunning location”

We spent a very happy 2 weeks in Cojito Martin. We were seeking peace and quiet away from the rat race and we found it.

Clair and Simon couldnt have been more helpful to us. Collecting from the airport, taking us to the supermarket and letting us tag along on a trip to Nerja.

Also Simon allowed me the use of a mountain bike, and I had a great time exploring.

We didnt have a rental car so walked into Comares, which was a 40 min walk (with an 8 year old). Comares itself is a beautiful place to spend an afternoon, nestled on top of a mountain.

The villa itself had everything we needed. It was lovely in a quirky way, having been an animal shed in a previous life. It was perhaps a little snug for 3 of us on the single rainy day we had, but when you spend most days outside, it wasnt an issue The pool, which was larger than expected, was a little chilly at the start of our break, but got a bit more bearable towards the end as the temperature got warmer. However our daughter was not put off and spent hours each day in there. The views from the cottage are simply breathtaking.

The little shop was great for ice creams on a hot day, and supplies when needed.

Thanks for everything Clair.

“Lovely Location”

Stayed here end of June beginning of July and it was a perfect place to stay. Clair made us welcome and even though she and her family live next door you wouldn't know it. The villa has everything you need and the kitchen has all the basics to get you started. Views from the two decks are lovely and sitting there for breakfast and dinner was just what we wanted, peace and relaxation. A car is a must as it is about an hour from Malaga airport and quite a way up in the hills. A tip if you are not planning on taking lots of clothes you can get away with just taking carry on luggage as towels sun creams etc are all there. Thank you Clair sorry about the delay in leaving the review would stay there again.

“Great place to get away from it all!”

We stayed at the cortijo Martin for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was very well equiped and big enough for the three of us. The terrace and pool area were absolutely fab, with wonderful views, ample seating and perfect space for BBQs.
There was plenty to do in the surrounding area, whether you just want to chill out on a beach (around 40-50 minutes drive), taste local cuisine or check out shops.
Many many thanks to the hosts Clair and Simon, who were very welcoming but unobtrusive and made our stay as enjoyable as possible.
Would highly recommend!

“A proper Spanish holiday.”
Reviewed 12 July 2012 for a stay in June 2012

If your idea of a holiday in Spain is Benidorm or Torremolinos, then Cortijo Martin definitely isn't for you.
If your idea of a holiday is visiting 'real' Spain then Cortijo Martin is an ideal property in an idyllic location.
The property, itself, has everything you need for a comprehensive, self- catering holiday.
The kitchen is well equipped, the lounge is comfortable with Satellite T.V and wifi; the bedroom is tastefully decorated in typical spanish style, with air conditioning. The bathroom is well appointed with a spacious shower area and an efficient shower.
The outside area is superb...shaded eating area, sun bathing patio with 'all day sunshine' and a lovely, clean, well maintained pool.
A car is essential for those shopping trips, either 5 mins, up to the well stocked supermarket in nearby Comares or down the winding mountain road to Benamargosa.
Comares, itself, is a super, little, quaint, typical Spanish mountain village with incredible panoramic views right down to the coast.
Enjoy an ice cold beer in the plaza, after a walk round the steep back streets of the village, in the heat of the day ( I need to be back there)
We have been to the Costa many times and will, without any doubt, be staying at Cortijo Martin again.
Finally, the owners, Claire and Simon, were friendly and helpful and 'real nice people'.
Thank you very much for creating a holiday home that perfectly suits our holiday needs.
Look forward to staying with you again.
