We arrived for a late lunch our first day of walking to a nice welcome and wonderful anti pasta and pasta, topped off with nice wine. Subsequently we enjoyed a small dinner there as well( everything else is closed on Monday’s) with Buon Padre Barolo. We recommend if you are in the area

My husband and I visited this restaurant 17 years ago during our honeymoon. This year we returned with our two kids and we weren’t disappointed. Although the food is updated to current trends, it’s still rustic and homemade. The restaurant it self still has that old Italian charm and Mama Maria is still cooking in the kitchen. Do try her famous pasta, it’s delicious!

This restaurant offers some menus with excellent quality food with home made pasta and other plates. all of them were super tasty and delicate. It is a tasting menu with small quantities of delicious food.

On a rainy day in May we entered very early that evening and left late.

We were first brought around into the various vineyards. We saw how some fields lie to the east, some to the south, what soil and different growth conditions Barolo vineyards La Volta, Bricco Delle Viole and San Pietro have. Then we went back to the restaurant Buen Padre, where it all started back in 1923. We were served a 5 course gourmet menu and had to test different wines for each dish. This was the best lunch during our stay in Piemonte. We ordered tables for dinner 2 days later for here we had to return and drink their wonderful wines and experience again their hospitality and kindness. Viberti Giovanni Barolo Buen Padre is perhaps the region's best buy Barolo and a gem.
