This is a slightly different type of review as we wound up not actually staying at CIVIICO. The host Giuseppina, was fantastic. Unfortunately the painter she had hired to redo our room messed it up and it was not available. She went out of her way and found us a place to stay a few kilometers outside of Barolo at the Relais Chiarene. She felt so badly that she covered the cost herself and refunded our deposit. She insisted on going with us to the place. She sets the bar on what a welcoming host should be.
