We stumbled upon this place by chance, and were not disappointed. We were shown down to a lovely terrace with an amazing view over the vineyards in the area. Service was very friendly and the food was honest, delicate and very tasty! Very happy to have found this place!

The view was outstanding on the terraza. The food was simple and superb with melt-in-your mouth pasta and other delights like stuffed zucchini and Vitelli tonato. This was the perfect spot for lunch. The service is hospitable and speedy (unusual for Italy generally). A must visit if you are in the region

We stayed in Serralunga so this was the local we visited 3 times for lunch and it was fantastic the Tajarin in particular was the best we had in Piemonte

Good wines by the glass and friendly service plus a great garden eat under the large tree if you can

Eating here was everything we could have wanted in terms of a great Italian, family-run restaurant. The restaurant is located in a quintessential Piemonte mountain town, complete with castle and views of the surrounding countryside and vineyards... the food was delicious, the restaurant was modern in a lovely old building, the terrace had beautiful views (but weather precluded us eating out there), and we had an amazing Barolo broglio reserva from their vineyard! The person who served us was part of the family that owns and runs the restaurant and the vineyard and could not have been more helpful and friendly. Afterwards we went next door and her husband gave us a tasting of more of their wines. A lovely way to spend a rainy day (or any day!) in Piemonte.

A friend of mine and his wife took me on a wine trip through the Barolo and Barbaresco regions.

For the less informed, Barolo is amongst the most royal wines from Italy, matched by the nearby Barbaresco region. It is drool territory for wine lovers.

What started as a foggy morning (giving the royal Nebbiolo grape its name) changed into a beautiful sunny day in February with lunch at the outdoor terrace overlooking the vineyards. The lunch was excellent and the Barolo's I tasted even better. It still puzzles me that the same producer, same producing method, same year, etc, can produce such different tasting Barolo wines when the only difference is 500m of vineyard. It is also a special experience to enjoy lunch and great wine and look over the hills that produced it.

The Schiavenza winery produces several Barolo's. I ended up buying several boxes of Bricco Ceretta and Prato 2012 for my private cellar.

Absolutely recommended! Tip: bring a chauffeur :-)
