We stayed one night at Eastwood Hall to break a long journey from South to North. We were delighted with our choice. The hotel and room was a bit tired but for the price we paid we didn’t expect the Four Seasons! The beds were comfy, the linen clean and the room and bathroom were adequately clean for our stay. We enjoyed the leisure club facilities especially the pool and we enjoyed a lovely buffet breakfast. The staff we met were all unfailingly brilliant, working hard despite being a bit short staffed following Covid/furlough, especially Olivia in the bar area who was super fab! Overall we couldn’t fault it for the stay we needed and we’d definitely stay again on a long journey!

Booked a great 2 day getaway offer directly with the hotel - what tremendous value! 2 nights bed and breakfast, an excellent: course meal in the restaurant on our first night & use of the great leisure facilities.

Our check in was smooth and we were made to feel very welcome by the gentleman on reception. We discovered our room was a very lengthy trek down seemingly endless corridors then a lift/stairs followed by another long corridor. We moved our car round to the car parking to the rear of the hotel later on - making it much more convenient & quicker to access our room from a side entrance. Very simple to get the entry code from reception.

Our room was a good size with a comfortable bed and decent bathroom. There was a pleasant view over the grounds. It was a treat to have all the leisure facilities available with a good pool, jacuzzi, steam room & sauna. A real asset to the hotel and something we throughly enjoyed using during our stay.

Our meal in the Tempus Restaurant was excellent. Service was great on a very busy evening. Special mention to Grace who looked after us brilliantly. My husband chose ham hock terrine to start followed by sea bream. I opted for smoked mackerel then chicken supreme. All dishes were well cooked and beautifully presented. We shared a dessert of panna cotta with mango sorbet then cheese & biscuits. Delicious. There is ample space and comfortable seating to enjoy a relaxing drink in the bar as well.

Breakfast on both days was enjoyable, with plenty of choice. Some unexpected offerings, which were a pleasant surprise such as crumpets and a huge pot of porridge. Poached eggs can also be cooked to order. The only slight hiccup was with a pair of temperamental coffee machines! Often a queue for these as they seemed to run out of water and/or coffee quite regularly. Staff did well during extremely busy services and kept on top of clearing tables. There is a lovely courtyard seating area off the restaurant as well, which is a great place to enjoy your coffee. Some guests chose to eat breakfast out there.

There were weddings on both days we stayed as well as a birthday celebration so staff were kept exceptionally busy. However they were all doing a grand job.

A really lovely stay, hardworking staff who were friendly and welcoming. Eastwood Hall is in a great location to explore Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire. There are plenty of places to visit within a short drive. Highly recommended.

What can i say, grounds look appealing from outside but inside is a different story. It needs a full redecoration and a good clean. We came home a day early as all the dust in our room had flared hubby’s allergies, it was thick by beds on floor and on tv cabinet and lamps etc

Most staff were polite and the pool was great though, sauna and steam room and jacuzzi... the games room for kids and teens is fab with two xboxes and ping pong and snooker

Be prepared to pay over odds for drinks, i think £8 for a glass of wine is a bit steep!!

Be prepared to walk 200 metres from the car park without your luggage as this is what they require you to do. Check in, get your key, walk back to the car park and collect your luggage, then repeat the 200 metres back to reception, then commence a long, long walk down corridor after corridor and up a flight of stair til you finally reach your room. Be prepared to find two rather pathetic paper cups to make yourself a drink, and don't be surprised at threadbare carpets. Be prepared not to be offered any information about the hotel facilities either. But if you ask, and insist, you can get a code which allows you to take the back entrance to the accommodation
block, saving you what feels like a mile long route march. The bed was clean and comfortable but as for extra cleaning, well there was thick dust on the window frame and on the heater, and cobwebs under the desk. For the price paid, I expected a lot better.
