My husband and I stayed in Villa Levantina for two and a half weeks last September. We were joined during this time by various family members. The location is comparable to none on Paxos as it is within 10 minutes walk to the centre of Gaios. The views from the veranda where we sat in glorious sunshine over breakfast each morning are simply stunning. All boats from super yacht to dingy can be seen coming and going throughout the day. Elefetheria is simply a perfect hostess. We have rented many houses throughout the years but have never had a more generous welcome basket. She offered to change sheets every two days which we deemed unnecessary while at all times remaining totally unintrusive. Before we left the island we booked Levantina for four weeks for September 2018 and cannot wait to return.
We rented Villa Levantina with friends at the end of July 2017. The property is a delightful typical Paxos villa - authentic and quirky. Spacious enough for eight adults. On arrival the villa was spotless, and was kept so throughout our stay. The owner popped around daily to ensure all was in order. The pool and surround was cleaned daily. The owner was very helpful, arranging Hydrofoil tickets and taxi transport from the port and back.
The villa has fantastic views from the front verandah and the spacious pool surround. We did not really do any cooking, but loved the bean-to-cup coffee machine! There is a small cove with beach directly opposite and Gaios town is only a few hundred yards away.
We loved our stay at Villa Levantina and I can recommend it without reservation.
We booked this villa with friends last November and we were delighted with our choice. Before we even arrived at the villa, Elefheria welcomed us off the water taxi and had arranged transport. The villa is extremely spacious in a beautiful setting over looking a small bay just around the corner from Gaios Harbour. Eleftheria made us extremely welcome and we had an enormous hamper including; bread, butter, jam, marmalade, coffee, milk, bacon, eggs, fruit juice, fruit & wine! The kitchen had every modern convenience and had everything we needed. Our bedrooms were spacious and comfortable all with en suites and air conditioning. We enjoyed a very relaxing week luxuriating in our surroundings. The grounds are vast and we had shade or sun wherever we wanted it. We also enjoyed a couple of BBQs, charcoal and everything apart from food supplied.
Eleftheria came every other day to and cleaned the villa, and every other day to check we were ok and clean the pool out. In the middle of our stay she changed our bedding and towels, something we have never had before for a weeks stay.
We used the washing machine nearly everyday as we had previously spent a week on a flotilla holiday and clothes were stale. The only caution I would add is, don't try to use the washing machine if the air con is on as it tripped out the electrics. It wasn't a problem as long as you know.
We certainly didn't have a problem with lack of hot water, there was lashings for the four of us adults to have one shower after another.
Villa Levantina is in a superb location just an easy five minute walk from the vibrant harbour of Gaios with its great restaurants and amenities.
We had to leave at the unearthly hour of 6.30 am and we were surprised and delighted that Eleftheria came along to the water taxi stop to say "Goodbye" which was above and beyond the call of duty. I would thoroughly recommend this Villa and would like to say a big Thank You to Eleftheria for such a wonderful relaxing holiday.
We stayed for a week at Villa Levantina in Gaios Paxos in early July 2017.
The villa is extremely well located being about ten minutes walk from the centre of Gaios, a really vibrant, fun village. We had four kids (aged from 19 to 23) with us who could make the most of the night life after we had finished in the restaurants. The villa has very panoramic views, an excellent outdoor seating/pool area and a small rocky cove just across the road which is great for swimming. It is clean but tired with old furniture and faded pictures.
The electrics and plumbing are old. Running two hair driers at once regularly fused the whole house. The old showers always fluctuated from very hot to very cold depending on whoever else was running water in the house. Only one of three gas rings worked on the cooker.
Also be aware that the accomadtion is not the entire villa as the top floor is actually a separate unoccupied apartment. This is not evident from the photos.
We also had some big issues with the cost. We initially paid approximately £2000 for the villa and had planned to be just my family of four. However we decided to bring a further four friends as we had the space. We were informed that this would cost an additional £900 and this was non negotiable. I was surprise as I assumed we were renting the 'villa'. The company we went through (Home Away) were of no help in sorting this. Other than an additional set of towels and sheets for one room we did not get anything extra for this big increase. To aggravate the situation a window handle fell off in my hand on the first day and I was presented with a 25euro repair bill ! A fairly blunt conversation ensued and the owner picked it up.
We are regular users of villas and I have never come across this sort of attitude before.
I would however strongly recommend Paxos as a holiday destination and Gaios is a lovely, vibrant village but without losing any of it's authentic Greek feel.
