Grab yourself a glass of bubbles and a plate of fresh oysters and watch the world go by. Also great restaurants here, or a deli where you can make up your dinner and go out into the patio area listen to the music and dine away. Great place

Looking at guide books, this is a place they recommend to come. As this is located in an older part of the city, there are no MRTs nearby. We took the MRT to the closet stop to this market and taxi it there. Only $80NT so quite reasonable for convenience. Since we arrived earlier than 11am, we head over to the local fresh produce market across it.
After 11am, we were able to explore the market. There are seating areas that are open air but still covered for dining in the middle while shopping for your fresh seafood inside. On the right of this area is a small frozen seafood section for you to visit. We then start by going through the live fish tanks entrance on the left side and was able to see a few species of crustaceans and fish which was great. Then the exit leads us to the supermarket. The supermarket sells a variety of fresh and frozen seafood, cooked seafood for takeout, preparation items, sauces, drinks and there is a VIP and drop in area for dining on the seafood prepared for you. The hot food deli items have a variety of seafood, protein and side dishes that you can buy, pay and eat it outside in the standing room only tables at the main entrance. On a hot day like today, we did not want to be in the humid heat so we took the more expensive item to dine inside. The food you buy in the supermarket cannot be eaten here, only from the menu only. We decided to order a few items here to experience it. It was delicious and I posted the costs and food we ate here. On our way out, we were not as full as we wanted to be so we browsed through the hot deli and purchased a few items to eat later. With seafood, its expensive and even though you are in Taiwan, expect to still pay a lot for it. But come here for the experience. Definitely worth a visit.

Fresh seafood, incredible variety of fishes, crabs, shrimps and squids.
I had sushi for lunch, along with king crabs and great salads.
If you're visiting Taipei set your lunch there!

Without a doubt, you can find the best fish in town at the Taipei Fish Market. You have to order downstairs and you fish will be prepared a la minute. Definitely worthwhile paying a visit.
