Short, not sweet

I stayed in this hotel for two nights while in Hualien for business. I was booked there instead of downtown because the hotel recommended downtown was full. Really unfortunate because this place is kind of in the middle of no where. There are a few places to look around and maybe eat behind the hotel but otherwise, pretty much no man's land. Isolation is accentuated at meal times: breakfast and dinner are both mediocre buffets in a vast dinning room. The dinner buffet is 750TWD which seemed a bit crazy. I figured out it was cheaper and more appetizing (given a separate menu) to order room service.

The bathroom in my room was okay, relatively clean but took about 30 minutes to run a bath and the shower head was loose so only pointed totally down. Towels were old and of poor quality.

All that was kind of crumby. Good stuff was that my room was clean, view from the private balcony of ships coming in and out of an industrial area below was very cool and the staff were very nice (although very few spoke any English - not really a criticism, I always feel guilty for being unilingual, but meant getting very little help, a bit of frustration).

All and all, won't stay there again - would rather be in a more centrally located place even if it's granted fewer 'stars'.

Luxurious spa-class hotel with modern styling in both public areas and rooms - incredibly comfortable beds, ocean views, amazing breakfast buffet - and all of that within easy driving distance of so MUCH FUN! River trekking, Taroko Gorge hiking etc - We were only able to stay one night but I can't wait to come back!!

We stayed for only one night and wished to spend more time in it. Rooms with ocean views are fantastic which you can watch the sunrise on the balcony. Rooms are clean, breakfast is above average, and the staff is friendly.

In a quiet neighborhood, the Fullon is a nice transition hotel when traveling around Taiwan Island. Nice roomy rooms. Free WI-FI in room. The staff is helpful and friendly. Our group had a great buffet breakfast in the Arcadia Café.

I was really pleased that I stayed at this hotel. All the staff were friendly, breakfast was also excellent. In particular, a bellman was very nice and kind. The bed and bedding were very good to take a good night's sleep, rooms and bathrooms were very clean. Sauna and breakfast were free, but unfortunately I couldn't enjoy the sauna because of other personal plans. I want to recommend this hotel to my friends come to visit. Of course, I would like to take a few days rest again and to enjoy this sauna.

Lovely big room, with a desk, couchette and private balcony, and a pleasant view over the dock area to the sea. Sure it's not in the centre but there are a few decent eating options nearby, such as the magnificent buffet at the Palais de Chine, cafe BioLove and restaurant Tosca Pasta. It's in a very quiet area. They have free bicycles for guests and there's a great 22km cycle path along the shoreline. Didn't much like the fact that there was only a buffet option for dinner, and breakfast doesn't have much for western tastes. The staff though are very enthusiastic and and are happy to help with sightseeing, tours etc - they have a number of options for Taroko Gorge etc. Also the coin-operated laundry came in very handy after a couple of weeks on the road. Very good free wifi.

Room tip: Splash out and get a seaview room
