Chez Lussaud is just beautiful! Set in picturesque, rural France surrounded by endless fields of sunflowers and beautiful trees. The gite is just stunning, sympathetically renovated with exposed brickwork, oak beams and artwork on the wall by the talented owner herself. No detail was lost on us, we soaked it all in! It had all the best elements - being like home from home with everything we needed for a relaxed stay, but with a real French style that reminded us that we were in this beautiful part of France.
The pool is a fantastic luxury and we enjoyed it daily! The land around the property is extensive (an understatement!) and beautiful. A brilliant place to explore - our children loved going fruit picking in the orchards. Richard was so kind allowing us to share and enjoy all the fruit growing on their land. On one of our nature trails we even found fossils, which the children were really excited about, Sandra was fantastic discussing their 'finds' with them and comparing one that she'd found herself previously!
In fact, Richard and Sandra were the most fantastic of hosts all round, they were welcoming yet discrete - only making their presence known when needed. They were so knowledgeable about the area, and were very kind - they went out of their way to help us whenever we asked. You can tell that they love Chez Lussaud so much because they take such pride in it and work incredibly hard so that others may enjoy it. I'm not sure they have quite understood the concept - 'retirement!'
We enjoyed their company (at our request) so much and it was one of the parts of the holiday we loved the most - that we have made such lovely friends. We (the children too!) are missing them (and Chez Lussaud) already!
Until we meet again!
