We stopped here midway on a walk from the Hilton back to town, after being dropped at the start by the water taxi.
To be blunt, there's not a lot of choice if you want lunch on this walk, but the Boatshed did the job (though a teenager near us was distressed their fries/chips had been replaced by "crispy potatoes").
Luncheon choices are quite limited, but there's enough for everyone - salads, burgers, lamb and salmon, a decent range of beers, and tea and coffee and cakes.
Not a foodie destination, but it's a lovely spot on the water, and a nice stop on a walk, or catch a water taxi or bus up to the Marina.

Excellent food, view and service. Clearly a favourite with the locals, The Boatshed Cafe is great if you are looking for to get away from the noise of Queenstown while enjoying a pleasant lakeside setting and view of The Remarkables.

The food and service was excellent, with very friendly staff.

Definitely add this to your list if you are visiting the region, you will not be disappointed.

With a heavy heart, I had to bid Queenstown farewell after spending 3 wonderful days here. I have to say that Queenstown has one of the best panoramic views in the world no matter what people say. To end everything with a bang, a very good breakfast is needed.. and this brought me to

This cafe definitely ranks as one of the most beautiful breakfast spots that I'd gone to while vacationing in NZ. Located on the shore of the Lake Wakatipu, it offers unparallel view of the beautiful lake while enjoying a cup of coffee, breakfast or even lunch. While it's not exactly in the Queenstown centre, it took only about 5-8 minutes drive to Frankton or if you feel adventurous with times to spare, walk along the Lake to reach this cafe (about 5km).

I arrived there on a chilly winter morning but I managed to get a table by the window so technically I could still dine with a view minus the cold.
◾scrambled eggs on toast with extra bacon
◾soup of the day
◾pulled pork eggs benedict - hoisin 12-hours braised pork shoulder, seasonal greens, potato hash (Instead of bread or muffin), hollandaise sauce and sesame oil.
◾Cheese & ham toast
◾Waffle with banana
◾love the quality coffee... I could sit outside at the alfresco area all-day drinking coffee if not for the cold weather.

What used to be a former ticket office, this building has been converted into a quaint and gorgeous breakfast spot. We met a group of fellow Malaysians who were just as excited to dine with a view here! I read that they have changed the menu do some items here might or might not be available.

We visited the Boatshed as often as we could during our stay in Queenstown. Had the Chorizo scrambled eggs, amazing, Avocado on toast, amazing, Chia pudding, amazing, Quinoa salad with a side of beef cheek, amazing. Great staff and beautiful views of Lake Wakatipu. The Amisfield Rose was good too.
