It is really located among boat sheds on the lakeside between Frankton and Queenstown. The view of the snow capped Remarkables across the lake from the glass roofed conservatory is wonderful. The mixed grill breakfast is served on a curved wooden board that might have come from a row boat (see photo). It is a big breakfast but for the similar money, the Walnut Cottage (reviewed separately) has ridiculously larger portions - only good for those really hungry. The sticky bun side on the menu of the Boat Shed was especially good. Overall, a great place to start a bright sunny day.

Ideally placed for stopping, on a walk or bike ride from Queenstown or a stop as you are driving into Queenstown. Converted old building on the lake front, nice views across to the mountains.
Boatshed burger is good, muesli and bacon and eggs goods, would give the creamed mushrooms a serve. Really good coffee, same owner as Provisions in Arrwtown.

What a find! Quaint, charming place with friendly, attentive wait staff, great menu and unbelievable views of the mountains. Scrambled eggs on ciabatta toast was delicious. Cappuccino's presentation--half moon of chocolate powder and froth--was fun, tho I would have liked a tad more espresso. I'm definitely going back for dinner and a taste off the date scones.

Gorgeous freezing day and we decided to visit the cafe which was once the Earnslaw ticket office.
Plenty of space, good service, delicious fish pie, excellent coffee and the BEST view of The Remarkables mountain range complete with stunning reflections as the cafe is right on the edge of Lake Whatatipu.
Not easy to find but great when you get there.
