“If you love wine……”

My husband and our 2 friends rented Deb and Gary’s house for a week and had the most wonderful vacation. Their lovely home is spacious and well appointed. We appreciated having the large notebook which included information on the house, the village of Sablet, restaurants, things to do, farmer’s markets, and especially Gary’s wine notes.
We enjoyed visiting the vineyards of the Cote du Rhone region. Our favorites included Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas, and Sablet’s Piaugier. We celebrated happy hour each day admiring the view from the third floor terrace of “La Trouvaille” as we savored a bottle of local wine with a fresh baguette from the patisserie next door and cheese from the village butcher.
Along with visits to the vineyards, we took day trips to Mt. Ventoux, the Pont du Gard, a lavender museum, and the city of Nimes. All were within an hour’s drive from Sablet, so the location proved to be the perfect homebase.

“A Dream Come True...”

My sister and I often daydreamed about staying in a charming, provençal house in a perfect, little French village surrounded by grape vines and rolling hills. And "La Trouvaille", nestled into the medieval walls of Sablet, a tiny village in the marvellous Côtes du Rhône region, was our dream come true. There's lots to see and do in the surrounding area, including some excellent restaurants in the near vicinity.
This well-equipped rental is extremely comfortable and became for the four of us (we took along our husbands) our home-away-from-home for one glorious week. And the four of us have no hesitation in recommending this property to all.

This gorgeous house in the friendly hilltop village of Sablet perfectly met our needs. The house has everything you could require, is beautifully furnished and exceptionally well equipped. The terrace was a perfect spot to relax after our excursions into the stunning surrounding countryside of the Dentellles or to the beautiful villages nearby. Deb and Gary left great suggestions for local walks and dining and their friendly generous help with everything was very much appreciated. Cannot fault this beautiful accommodation and stunning area of the vaucluse!

“Lovely old Provençal house.”

We stayed here for two weeks with friends. It is a perfect home for four people.
La Trouvaille was all we had hoped for and expected. Thick stone walls to keep us cool on days of 36 degree heat, a bedroom, sitting room and bathroom each and wonderful communal downstairs area commandeered by a large country farmhouse table where we spent much time enjoying the gorgeous local food and talking. You will want for nothing in this excellently equipped home....I mean nothing!
The house overlooks the village square of Sablet so was perfect to walk a few steps to the patisserie for morning croissants or pate and cheese at Alain and Mimis well stocked shop. The cafe was always buzzing and great for a cafe creme or a snack.
We decided that Sablet is far and away the best of the villages in this part of France, a real working French village to experience the reality of living here. Others may be more picturesque but are chock full,of tourists and gift shops. Vaison La Romaine, a short drive away was our favourite town to shop, swim and enjoy a coffee in the typical town square surrounded by plane trees.
A beautiful home in a beautiful place.

“What a great experience”
Reviewed 10 December 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Four of us stayed for a week at La Trouvaille. From our first emailed contacts with Deb, to our initial meeting with the local manager, the house itself, and the village and the whole experience were more than we expected or hoped for. The house is larger than it looked from the photos, beautifully appointed, fully equipped - we lacked for nothing - and were so comfortable. Sablet is a lovely village in an excellent location. We ate a wonderful meal one evening at La Table de Magali, and had a special birthday celebration dinner in nearby Gigondas, at Les Florets. A friend recommended the latter to us, and we would certainly do the same. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sablet in general and La Trouvaille in particular to any friend planning a stay in Provence.
