“Fantastic Holiday Rental”
Reviewed 4 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Our family of four had a wonderful two week stay at Le Fer a Cheval. The home is spacious and beautifully furnished, with a great kitchen and two full bathrooms. Pippa is a welcoming and extremely helpful host, with a wealth of local knowledge she is happy to share. Sablet is lovely, friendly village, with great amenities. The surrounding area is amazing - wine, markets, outdoor activities, cycling, and amazing historic sites. Many great Roman sites are within reach - Vaison la Romaine is just minutes away (be sure to visit their Tuesday market), while Arles, Nimes, Orange, St. Remy, and Pont du Gard are easy outings.

“Lovely Provencal house in a great area”
Reviewed 31 May 2017 for a stay in March 2017

Le Fer a Cheval is a perfect house for up to four people with everything you could need. It is well equipped and attractively presented, cool when hot, warm when cool. During our six week stay Pippa was happy to provide help, advice and recommendations about the locality and its attractions. The village and its people are a great base from which to get to know Provence and its charms.(There are so many!) Head out in any direction and you will not be disappointed! Just get over here....

“Beautiful, peaceful, friendly”
Reviewed 14 March 2017 for a stay in August 2016

Set in the heart of the Côtes du Rhône, Sablet took our breath away. Stunning views, fantastic architecture, friendly people, amazing wine. And Le Fer a Cheval - spacious, well equipped, rustic-yet-modern, spotlessly clean - is fantastic base for exploration of this incredible part of the world.

One of the main attractions for us was the fact that Sablet is a working village and not overly touristic. The locals always found time to chat and tell us more about new places to visit. It helped that we spoke French but this would by no means be essential. Sablet has enough in the way of amenities (2 bakeries, a grocers, a terrace/bar/restaurant) to meet everyday needs, but several larger towns such as Carpentras and Vaison La Romaine are nearby with supermarkets, marvellous daily outdoor markets, art/music festivals and of course numerous wine cellars on the way. In particular the outdoor pool at Beaume-De-Venise was a favourite with our family - only a short drive and a few euros for the day. Perfect for cooling down!

Pippa and her assistant Sandrine were great hosts. Meeting us exactly when and where we'd agreed, even when our incoming flight was delayed meaning a long wait into the night for Sandrine.

We took home with us many happy memories of our holiday, and would love to return some day.

“Characterful, comfortable village accommodation”
Reviewed 14 March 2017 for a stay in September 2016

Tastefully renovated house at the top of a beautiful historic wine village. Very comfortable bedrooms with excellent shower facilities, well equipped kitchen and first floor terrace overlooking the ancient Church. Ideal for an escapist getaway, with good local amenities and welcoming villagers. However, for anyone who is less than fully able access both externally, and internally, could be an issue. Pippa and Pascal were both very hospitable and helpful, with a welcome bottle of excellent local wine for our arrival.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in June 2016 & had a great time visiting numerous towns & villages in the region. Sablet itself is a lovely little village, with a convenience shop, bakeries, butcher & Tourist Office. There is also a pizzeria & two restaurants, which were very good. Although the restaurants are not open every night, there are plenty of other establishments near by.
Le Fer a Cheval has has been nicely restored, but still has lots of character, the kitchen was especially well equpiped if you decided to cook anything you bought at any of the markets. As the downstairs bedroom has an en suite & the upstairs bedroom is next to another shower room, the house would be ideal for two couples or a family. We really loved having breakfast on the sunny terrace every morning enjoying pastries from the Medieval Bakery.
